This weekend, the UFC will make its way to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for the first time when UFC 161 takes place at the MTS Centre, home of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets.
The fight card will feature a main event between Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson. Evans and Henderson moved up to headlining status when the original main event, interim UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao versus Eddie Wineland, was scrapped after a Barao injury. With that in mind, the main event will be scheduled for three rounds.
The co-main event also came about after the injury to Barao. The UFC enlisted Roy Nelson on short notice to step in and face Stipe Miocic. Miocic had originally been booked to face Soa Palelei, who was bumped from the card in favor of Nelson.
Also on the pay-per-view portion of the card will be the first women’s fight on a Canadian UFC card, as Rosi Sexton meets Alexis Davis.
Weigh-ins for the event will take place from the MTS Centre on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. Bleacher Report will have results as they take place; please check back on Friday for full results.
