Alexander Gustafsson has wanted to be a UFC champion since the day he started fighting, and at UFC 165, he’ll finally have the chance to see that dream realized.

He takes on a tough challenge in UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, but Gustafsson knows he’s put in the work necessary to walk out the champion.

To get ready for the fight, Gustafsson has been working at his home camp in Sweden as well as with his team at the Alliance Training Center in San Diego, where he spars with other top fighters like Phil Davis and Yushin Okami.

He’s putting in all the blood, sweat and tears necessary to walk out of UFC 165 with the gold belt wrapped firmly around his waist.

“I’m so motivated,” Gustafsson said. “I want that belt. I’m hungry, I want the fight. That’s what I’ve been dreaming of since I started this.”

Gustafsson knows that Jones won’t be a pushover so he’s maximized his training to get ready for their showdown in September.

Since coming to the UFC, Jones has been virtually untouchable, and he’s been like a buzzsaw going through the majority of the light heavyweight division.

Gustafsson is confident, however, that he’s put in the training and mental preparation to end Jones’ reign atop the division and start a new one of his own.

Check out the entire interview with Gustafsson above where he discusses the fight with Jones, his training ahead of the fight in September and how his dreams will come true when he leaves the Octagon as champion.
