With Dominick Cruz suffering another injury, it could have been good news for Raphael Assuncao. However, the Brazilian bantamweight is also out with an injury.
Assuncao, who was hoping to fight for the UFC title after scoring seven straight wins as a bantamweight, but saw Cruz eventually taking his place against T.J. Dillashaw, won’t be able to return to the Octagon due to a broken ankle.

According to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, Assuncao won’t need surgery for the broken ankle, but will stay out eight to ten weeks.
Assuncao, who beat Dillashaw in a bantamweight bout in 2013, last fought in October, scoring a decision victory over Bryan Caraway.
