With three fight cards in three nights, Las Vegas in early December will become the center of the mixed martial arts universe.
And to kick things off at UFC Fight Night 80 — which takes place on Thursday, Dec. 10 — the UFC is looking to book a fight between lightweights Jim Miller and Michael Chiesa.
As first reported on UFC Tonight, that fight is being targeted for the Fight Pass card, which takes place at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan.
The 32-year old Miller (25-6-1) is coming off of a split-decision victory over Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 16 in July. That snapped a two-fight losing streak, which was the longest of Miller’s career. He was knocked out against Donald Cerrone in 2014 and dropped a unanimous decision against Beneil Dariush at UFC on FOX 15 in New Jersey. Before then Miller had gone 3-0-(1), with victories over Yancy Medeiros and Joe Lauzon.
The 27-year old Chiesa (12-2) rebounded from a loss against Joe Lauzon in September with a victory over Mitch Clarke at UFC Fight Night 63 this past April. The Ultimate Fighter 15 winner is 5-2 in the UFC, overall.
