Lyoto Machida wants to put on more of a show when he meets Dan Henderson for the second time at UFC on FOX 19, on April 26.
Lyoto Machida wants to send a message to the middleweight division when he takes on Dan Henderson for the second time next April. That’s because “The Dragon” wants to erase the bad stint he went through in 2015, when he suffered two losses to Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero.
Ready for a new beginning, Machida wants to show people he can still be aggressive, and intends to do so when he meets “Hendo” again.
“I believe this will be a more intense fight. A bit more aggressive. ” Machida told Combate. ” Our main goal, other than the victory, is to put on a great show. That’s in my mind. As a professional, I get in a dilemma between sport and entertainment. There’s these two sides. Fans will be cheering and people want to see new things.”
Of course, he is aware of the dangers Henderson brings to the table, even though he already defeated him by split decision back in 2013.
“He is a tough guy. He was going to fight Jon Jones a few years ago. He has put on great fights. His career speaks for itself, so I can’t underestimate him.”
Lyoto Machida is expected to fight Dan Henderson at UFC on Fox 19, on April 16, in Tampa, Florida. The card will be headlined by a lightweight title eliminator between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
