Weidman, though, still thinks it’s embarrassing that Bisping is champ and believes fighting him would be one of his easiest wins in years.
“I beat Yoel, I get Bisping, that’s an easy day,” Weidman told Damon Martin FOX Sports. “He’s a tough guy, he showed he’s tough without a doubt but it might be one of my easiest fights I’ve had in years to get that fight with Bisping.”
Weidman will take on the No. 4 ranked Yoel Romero at UFC 205 in New York, fighting at the legendary Madison Square Garden on Nov 12. It will be the New Yorker’s first fight since UFC 194, when he lost the middleweight title to Luke Rockhold in the co-main event.
UFC 204, the blockbuster pay-per-view that hosts the first champion vs. champion superfight in seven years (Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor), will feature Weidman vs. Romero on the main card. The event takes place on November 12 at MSG in New York.
