Looking to rebound following his submission loss to Anthony Pettis, Charles Oliveira will try to finish Ricardo Lamas as soon as possible when they meet in Mexico. As Oliveira told UFC Brazil, the match is a big opportunity to get back into title contention at 145, so he needs to make an impression.

Also, since he got the fight on short notice, he is concerned about that Mexico altitude.

“I wasn’t training, but the opportunity presented itself and you can’t waste it. It’s a big fight. If I win, I’m right back at the top of the weight class. I got this fight on short notice so we are focusing on what we can and trying to evolve. I’m really pushing for cardio, we are doing some things so I can look good out there, but we know it’s going to be bad and we will all feel it. I’ll try and win as quickly as possible, so the altitude doesn’t get in the way.”

Charles Oliveira faces Ricardo Lamas at UFC Fight Night 98, in Mexico City, on November 8. The card will be headlined by lightweights Tony Ferguson and Rafael dos Anjos.
