Strikeforce/DREAM/K-1 champion Alistair Overeem (34-11) only fought two mixed martial arts matches in 2010, one to defend his Strikeforce heavyweight title, and the other was for the DREAM interim heavyweight title in a match that was put together on short notice.
Now the Dutch fighter is set to make his first appearance of 2011 in the upcoming Strikeforce World Grand Prix tournament against Fabricio Werdum in the opening quarterfinals.
Overeem is looking to show American fans that he is the #1 heavyweight in Strikeforce so he’s hoping to showcase his skills in bouts in the U.S. and Japan defending both of his mma titles.

I’m a active fighter, so I will never say no to a fight if my management can make the fight.
