Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort (19-8), a Karate Blue Belt under Shotokan Karate instructor Vinício Antony, has enlisted the help of South American Karate champ Jayme Sandall for his upcoming UFC 126 title fight with middleweight title holder Anderson Silva.
Sandall has been a part of Belfort’s previous camp, helping the Brazilian fighter prepare for his fight against Rich Franklin.
The Karate champ spoke to Portal Do Vale Tudo about Belfort’s preparations.
“Let’s make a technical and tactical work, develop a strategy to fight Anderson. The master Antony Vinicio developed a series of movements of karate to create a specific strategy for this fight. Karate, once again, he will hone Vitor. He is already working with the fitness, striking and ground and sharp, now we add the timing and distance, both for attack and for defense.”
