Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s UFC event in Belem, which will be headlined by a middleweight fight between Lyoto Machida and Eryk Anders.

Join us today on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring and play-by-play as UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Anders takes place in the Arena Guilherme Paraense in Belem, Brazil.

The headliner comes in the middleweight division, with Lyoto Machida looking for a much-needed win against the rising Eryk Anders.

Today’s event is in Brazil, but the show falls into the same timeline as North American fight cards.. Live results and play-by-play will commence with the Fight Pass broadcast at 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT for one fight. The event will then move to FS2 at 8pm ET/5pm PT for four preliminary fights, and then go to FS1 for the six-fight main card which kicks off at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Timothy Johnson vs. Marcelo Golm

Round 1 – Johnson jabbing from the outside. Golm with a hard inside leg kick. Another. Johnson with a couple of shots inside. Body shots in the clinch from Johnson. Golm with a knee. Johnson just bodying him around the cage, landing knees to the belly. They finally separate with three minutes to go. Johnson with a nice left over the top. Golm with an uppercut as Johnson clinches. He presses Golm against the fence. It’s not exciting, but it’s effective. Golm reverses, and Johnson is bleeding from a cut around his eye. They separate. Golm with an inside leg kick again. Johnson clinches. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 2 – Looks like the cut came from a clash of heads. Johnson with a combo. Golm with a head kick and a right. Johnson with his own right and and he’s looking for a takedown now. Big elbows, to the head from Golm, Travis Browne style. Johnson with a short left on the break. Body kick from Golm. More clinching. Johnson looks for a single leg takedown but there’s nothing there and they break. Both land punches. Johnson goes back to his office. Body lock and knees to the thigh from Johnson. He’s staying busy. The crowd is booing. Golm separates with a short elbow with 50 seconds to go. They clash heads again. Johnson with a knee to the body and they’re back against the fence. Johnson with a spinning elbow! Didn’t expect that. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 3

Douglas Silva de Andrade vs. Marlon Vera

Round 1 – De Andrade charges in immediately. They trade some kicks. De Andrade with a leg kick. Nice overhand right and a body kick, but Vera caught it. Low leg kick from Vera. Body kick from Vera. More body kicks from both men. Nice combo from De Andrade. Huge overhand right from De Andrade just misses. Vera presses forward and lands a knee. De Andrade misses with an uppercut. Vera with a low leg kick again. Body kick from Vera as De Andrade charged in for a takedown attemp. He scores with a suplex just before the horn. 10-9 De Andrade.

Round 2 – Head kick from Vera. Inside leg kick from De Andrade. Vera caught a kick and tried to dump De Andrade to the floor, but couldn’t. Nice left hook from De Andrade. Vera is cut beside the eye. Another left hook. Vera complains of an eye poke but it was from a punch. De Andrade pressures. De Andrade with a body shot. Vera with a leg kick. A right hook lands this time for De Andrade. Vera with a jab. Straight left from De Andrade. Chito spins and misses. De Andrade rips the body with a left. Vera’s really bleeding now. De Andrade with a knee in the clinch. Vera with a knee. De Andrade takes the back at the horn. 10-9 De Andrade.

Round 3 – They both land some clinch knees early. Vera pressing forward but eats a straight left. Body kick from Vera. De Andrade with a combo. Two body kicks from Vera. Low keg kick. De Andrade with a straight right to the body. Left hook from De Andrade. Vera presses and lands a couple of shots. De Andrade fires right back though. Vera just flipped him off for some reason. They brawling a bit now. De Andrade with a lead elbow and a side elbow attempt. De Andrade with a three-punch combo. Spinning elbow. Jumping knee from Vera. Good fight, but a clear winner. 10-9 and 30-27 De Andrade.

Thiago Santos vs. Anthony Smith

Round 1 – Santos with a low kick and a body kick. Santos appeared to slip and Smith charges in at him. He couldn’t do much though. Santos with a spinning kick that connects. He lands another big knee, but Smith grabbed him and threw him down, right into mount! That was a pretty crazy sequence. Santos bucks him off and sweeps. Nice. Santos presses him up against the cage and lands a few hard rights to the body. More body work. Smith gets to a seated position but Santos lands some more. Smith got up and charged right at Santos with two huge shots! They both wind up and throw at the same time and Santos lands first, dropping Smith! Wow! Santos is busted wide open. Smith is bleeding. That was a crazy round. 10-9 Santos.

Round 2 – Santos opens with a hard kick. Looked like he landed to the cup but Smith walks it off. Santos with a body kick that hurt Smith! Santos is all over him again. Smith grabs a leg but is just eating hammerfists to the side of the head. The ref finally stopped it.

Thiago Santos defeated Anthony Smith via TKO (strikes), 1:03 of round 2

Sergio Moraes vs. Tim Means

Round 1 – Moraes misses with a wild combo. He clinches up and pulls guard. It takes Means about 45 seconds to squirm away and get back to his feet. Moraes with a right. Means caught a kick and Moraes flopped to his back, hoping Means would engage him. Nope. Moraes with a left and a head kick. Means trying to establish his jab. Means with a left. Moraes with a combo. Two straight rights from Moraes. Means with an elbow. Means with an oblique kick. Another hard right from Moraes. Flying knee attempt from Means. Front kick. 10-9 Moraes.

Round 2 – They clash heads. Means lands to the body. Moraes with a punchto the chest. Means with a front kick and leg kick. Means with a jab and a step-in knee. Nice uppercut from Means in close. Moraes with a big combo. Moraes lands to the body. They both land lefts. Counter left from Means. Jabs and a low kick from Means. Nice counter left. Moraes back to the body. Nice combo from Means. Overhand right from Moraes. Means goes to the body now. Low kick from Moraes. Snap head kick from Menas. Close round. 10-9 Means.

Round 3 – Quick left from Means. A couple of nice jabs as well. Moraes with a body kick and misses with wild rights. Moraes punches air again. He lands a right and a left though. Really wide punches but it’s effective. Means with a front kick. Moraes digs to the body. Nice combo from Means Head kick from Moraes connects. Means with a right and a knee. Moraes is slowing down. Means jabbing and landing combos. Moraes to the body. Means with a nice counter shot to the body. Means with a kick. Moraes with his own. Means with two more jabs and he just throws Moraes away when he tries to clinch. Means lands two hard shots and Moraes goes to his back. He jumps into guard and lands one big shot, then backs out. Moraes comes forward with a combo and they brawl to the horn. Good fight. 10-9 and 29-28 Means.

Alan Patrick vs. Damir Hadzovic

Round 1 – Patrick with a front kick to the body. Hadzovic lands a shot and chases after Patrick. He lands a knee against the cage but is immediately taken down. Patrick easily passes to side. Hadzovic is up and they battle against the cage. Patrick with a body lock takedown. He takes Hadzovic’s back as he comes back up. Hadzovic finally gets loose and they meet in the middle. Patrick gets a quick and powerful takedown though. Hadzovic looking for an armbar. Patrick pulls his arm out. Hadzovic amusingly got his foot stuck in Patrick’s shorts. Never seen that before. Referee Mario Yamasaki pulls it out while Patrick works in full guard against the cage. Hadzovic gets up but is tripped back down. Patrick lands a bunch of lefts to end the round. 10-9 Patrick.

Round 2 – Patrick with a kick and looks for a takedown. Hadzovic with a kick. Patrick with a capoeira kick that missed. He gets an easy takedown. He’s around on the back and has a choke almost secured. He couldn’t get his arm under the chin though. He softens him up with some punches and rolls onto his back, still with full control. Body triangle now. There’s not a lot happening, just some hand fighting. That went on for the final two minutes of the round. 10-8 Patrick.

Round 3 – They both land kicks. Patrick with a body shot and (shocker) a takedown. Hadzovic briefly looked for a triangle but couldn’t secure anything. Patrick is just Fitching him here. Hadzovic back up with 1:45 to go. Both men are tired. Patrick drags him down with a single leg again. He’s got the back again, and the body triangle. He doesn’t really look for the finish, just rides out the fight with control. 10-9 and 30-26 Patrick.

Maia Stevenson vs. Polyana Viana

Round 1 – They trade shots early. Viana with a judo throw takedown but can’t keep it there. Stevenson looked for a takedown but Viana is all over her arm. She’s really working for it. Stevenson is bleeding from the early shots. Viana extended the armbar but Stevenson didn’t tap and actually got out and back to her feet. Viana working a front headlock. She lands a few knees. She takes Stevenson down and stacks her up. She’s landing some big hammerfists. She passes to mount. Stevenson gives up her back and Viana immediately sinks a choke. Night night.

Iuri Alcantara vs. Joe Soto

Round 1 – Alcantara with a body kick. Soto shoots but gets nowhere. Alcantara lands another body kick that seemed to hurt Soto. He started throwing hard elbows and a couple of left hooks and Soto is down. Soto ate a ton of shots before the ref finally stepped in. That was pretty late.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Joseph Morales

Round 1 – Measured start. Figueiredo tried to throw a spin kick but Morales ties him up. Figueiredo gets loose and gets a takedown. Morales almost ankle-swept him, but Figueiredo managed to stay on top. Figueiredo backs out of guard and Morales is throwing a bunch of upkicks. Figueiredo drops a couple of big hammerfists. Figueiredo still standing over him. Finally he leans back into full guard and lands a couple more shots. They stall out a bit against the cage. Morales grabbed the cage to spin around, and the ref missed it. He stands them up with a minute to go. Hard right jab from Figueiredo stuns Morales and he immediately looks for a guillotine. Morales isn’t in danger though. More upkicks after Figueiredo let go. He lands a few hammerfists. 10-9 Figueiredo.

Round 2 – Figueiredo with a superman punch and a combo as he runs Morales down. Morales hesitant with his hands. He finally whiffs on a combo and looks for a guillotine, but is thrown to the mat by Figueiredo. Figueiredo works in full guard again. Figueiredo backed out and Morales got back to his feet. Left hook from Figueiredo. Body kick. Morales landed a hard counter right – by far his best shot of the fight so far. Figueiredo misses with a lead uppercut. Leg kick from Morales. He lands a knee in the clinch. Uppercut and left hook and Morales is down! It could have just been stopped there, but Figueiredo jumped on him and landed a couple of punches to end it.
