Donald Cerrone will step into the Octagon for the 28th time in his career when he faces Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC Fight Night 132 on Sat., June 23, 2018 inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, which will air in UFC Fight Pass.
But before the two top Welterweights get to swinging, let’s take a look back at one of “Cowboy’s” most impressive victories. Back in 2014, Cerrone found himself staring down one of the most lethal strikers in all of MMA, as he took on Edson Barboza at UFC on FOX 11 in Orlando, Florida.
From the onset, Edson showed he meant business, taking it to Cerrone and rocking him within the first few seconds of the fight. It was pretty much the same through the first couple of minutes, which was a surprise seeing as how Cerrone’s specialty also lay in the striking department.
In a split second, however, Donald turned the tides in his favor, dropping Edson with a lighting-fast jab and then proceed to pounce on his fallen prey to earn a rear-naked choke victory.
This time around, Donald will be facing one of the youngest up-and-coming fighters in the division when he faces off against 26 year-old Edwards, who is bent on making a name for himself with a win over the longtime veteran.
