A bantamweight matchup has been added to June’s “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” event between former WEC fighters Scott “Young Guns” Yorgensen (11-4) and Ken Stone (9-2).
Heavy.com was the first to report the bout on Monday afternoon and several other news sites have since confirmed the bout with sources close to the negotiations.
Jorgensen is coming off a loss to Dominick Cruz for the UFC bantamweight title at the very last WEC event, WEC 53 last December. Cruz earned a unanimous decision ending Jorgensen’s five fight win streak. Fighting under the WEC banner he was 7-3 and earned two “Fight of the Night” bonuses.
Stone made his WEC debut at the WEC 53 event against Edie Wineland who used a slam to KO Stone in the first round. He is 1-2 in his last two fights and has fought for several promotions over the past three plus years of his career.
“The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” is set to take place on June 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. Co-headlining the event will be a lightweight bout between former WEC champ Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida.
