A middleweight bout between UFC fighters Tim “Crazy” Credeur (12-3) and Ed “Short Fuse” Herman (19-7) has been tagged for the upcoming “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” event in June.
Heavy.com announced the matchup on Saturday morning, learning of the bout from sources close to the fight.
This will be Credeur’s first fight back in the octagon since a unanimous decision loss to Nate Quarry in September of 2009 at UFC Fight Night 19. “Crazy” had been scheduled twice for UFC appearances but ended up with injuries both times. He had been scheduled to face Mike Massenzio at UFC Fight Night 20 and Tom Lawlor at UFC 113. Before the loss to Quarry, Credeur had been on a six fight win streak which included a 3-1 record with the UFC.
Herman is 1-3 in his last four bouts and is 4-5 overall in the UFC. He too has had a long layoff from the octagon due to a knee injury suffered in his last UFC bout against Aaron Simpson at UFC 102. In the August 2009 bout with Simpson, Herman injured his knee in the first round, but attempted to come out in the second only to injure it worse leaving him unable to continue forcing the TKO loss due to injury. Before that he earned a unanimous decision over David Loiseau at UFC 97, a split decision loss to Alan Belcher at UFN 15, and a technical submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC 83.
“The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” is set to take place on June 4th at The Pearl at the Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas.
