The ‘Robocop’ looks to retain his belt for the second time in September at Wembley Arena, London.
In one of four title fights on the night, hard-hitting welterweight, Roberto Soldic (16-3), intends to further cement himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe when he takes on the Czech Republic’s Patrik Kincl (22-9, 1NC). KSW 50 will be a showcase of some of the very best talent in the promotion and takes place on Saturday, September 14th from Wembley Arena, London.
In the same arena last October, Soldic won the KSW belt for the second time in a fight of the night effort against Dricus Du Plessis to avenge his only loss in KSW. He defeated Krystian Kaszubowski with another highlight-reel knockout in less than ninety seconds at KSW 49 in his first defense and is looking to add to his three fight winning streak in London. The 24-year-old owns a staggering 88% knockout rate in his victories and now splits his time between training at the fast-rising UFD Gym in Germany and Tristar under world-class coach, Firas Zahabi.
There were no obvious contenders in the promotion for Soldic to face next so KSW had to look elsewhere to find a suitable opponent who could best challenge the Croatian. They settled on Patrik Kincl who has competed for a number of big shows across Europe, sharing the cage with Karlos Vemola, Alexander Shlemenko and Magnus Cedenblad in the process. Kincl has amassed an impressive 14-2, 1NC run since 2013 and has only been stopped due to strikes once in his professional career. This is a big opportunity for him to topple a huge KSW star and announce himself as one of the best welterweights in Europe.
KSW 50 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title match-up as champion, Phil De Fries, looks to fend off the challenge of fellow UFC veteran, Damian Grabowski. Light heavyweight champion, Tomasz Narkun, is billed to defend his belt against an as-of-yet unnamed opponent in the co-main event and Norman Parke is set to face Marion Ziolkowski for the interim lightweight title in the absence of undisputed champion, Mateusz Gamrot.
