Ion Cutelaba returned to the UFC light heavyweight win column earlier today (Sat., Sept. 28, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 160 live on ESPN+ from inside Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, when he flattened striker Khalil Rountree via first-round TKO (elbow and punches).
Rountree came out aggressive looking for the knockout punch but Cutelaba quickly sliced through his Muay Thai to get inside, land dirty boxing, and secure multiple takedowns. After absorbing a ton of damage during the exchanges, Rountree started to fade along the cage. Cutelaba easily gained top control and blasted Rountree with heavy hands en route to the TKO finish.

With this performance, Cutelaba rebounds from a recent submission loss to Glover Teixeira back in April, which was a contest “Hulk” nearly won early on. The 25-year-old finisher looked better than ever today and could use this win to lock down a shot at a top 15 opponent his next time out.
