Dustin Poirier is willing to run things back with Justin Gaethje at UFC 249.

With Dustin Poirier fully recovered from injury, ‘The Diamond’ is looking to return to the UFC as soon as possible, and what better opponent than Justin Gaethje?

Poirier, 30, beat Gaethje via fourth-round TKO in a Fight of the Night classic back at UFC on FOX 29 in 2018, and the top-three lightweight contender is willing to run things back with ‘The Highlight’ at UFC 249, which is set to feature a headlining lightweight title bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.

Poirier would like to fight Gaethje in the UFC 249 co-main event.

Since losing to Poirier at UFC on FOX 29, Gaethje has amassed a three-fight win streak against James Vick, Edson Barboza and Donald Cerrone, finishing all three opponents in the first round.

Poirier, on the other hand, went on to beat Eddie Alvarez and Max Holloway before challenging Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title at UFC 242, a bout which the Louisianan lost via third-round submission.

UFC 249: Khabib vs. Ferguson takes place later this year, April 18 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
