Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s UFC 247 preliminary card from Houston.

Join us today on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring, and play-by-play as UFC 247 goes down in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

The main event will be a light heavyweight title fight between champ Jon Jones and challenger Dominick Reyes. The co-main is for a belt too, with Valentina Shevchenko putting up her UFC women’s flyweight title against challenger Katlyn Chookagian.

This post will cover the preliminary portion of the card. The featured bout on the prelims will see Trevin Giles taking on ultra late replacement James Krause in a middleweight contest.

We’ll start on Fight Pass and ESPN+ at approximately 6:30pm ET with three fights. The card then moves to ESPN at 8pm ET for four more bouts, then onto the main PPV card at 10pm ET. The full lineup and schedule follows. The main card and main event will be covered in separate posts.

Round 1

Austin Lingo vs. Youssef Zalal

Round 1 – Lingo chases Zalal down and lands two short lefts. Zalal responds with a knee. Zalal with a head kick and he scoops a single. Nothing there. Zalal with a couple of solid shots. They clinch and Zalal lands some hard knees to the top of the head. Lingo’s nose is bleeding. Zalal shoots but gets stuffed. Nice jab from Zalal, and a jump knee. Lingo wades in with some strikes, but eats a counter. Nice right from Lingo. Another right. Back to the jab from Zalal. Zalal gets a takedown. 10-9 Zalal.

Round 2 – Lingo presses but gets taken down. Lingo obviously grabs the cage to re-adjust and the ref says a whole lot of nothing. Zalal traps one of Lingo’s arms. It’s out now. Zalal with an elbow over the top. Zalal with a front head lock, he could set up a D’Arce but doesn’t. Now he does, and drops down with it. He gives it up and they roll to his feet. Head kick from Zalal. Zalal gets a body lock takedown. 10-9 Zalal.

Round 3 – Body kick from Zalal. Short knee scores. Inside leg kick from Lingo. Zalal scoops a single and puts Lingo on the mat. Lingo is looking for a guillotine but there’s nothing there. He’s just laying there, more or less. Nice elbow from Zalal. Lingo scoots to his feet. Zalal gets a front head lock and looks for an anaconda. He gives it up. Lingo wades in with a right. Zalal looks for a throw but can’t get it. He scoops a single again, and gets the same takedown again. He tries to roll through with a guillotine. Now a D’Arce. Too late though. 10-9 and an emphatic 30-27 for Zalal.
