A hard-hitting Heavyweight bout is in the works to go down on Oct. 10, 2020, as MMA Fighting is reporting that verbal agreements are in place for Ben Rothwell and Marcin Tybura to throw down in the center of the Octagon.
A location and venue has yet-to-be determined, though it’s a safe bet to say UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada is the most-likely destination.
Rothwell is coming off a huge win over former UFC Light heavyweight contender, Ovince Saint Preux, who he defeated at UFC Fight Night 171 this past May (recap). The win was “Big Ben’s” second in a row with his previous one coming against Stefan Struve.
Tybura, meanwhile, has also won his last two by taking out Sergey Spivak and Maxim Grishin earlier this year. An 11-fight veteran for UFC, Tybura has been rather inconsistent during his stint with the promotion, though a win over Rothwell will be one of his biggest to date.
Both big men are currently on the outside of the Top 15 looking in, so a win for either of them could be what is needed to get them over the hump.
