At UFC VEGAS 17, Marcin Tybura became the first man to finish Greg Hardy in his MMA career.

Disgraced former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy looked pretty sharp on the feet against Marcin Tybura, and admittedly it’s some of his best work in his young MMA career.

Then round two happened.

In the opening bout on the UFC VEGAS 17 main card, Tybura steadily fought his way back into things with some effective striking as Hardy’s output waned. When Tybura secured the takedown late in the second frame, it marked only the second time Hardy had ever been put on his back. Needless to say, Marcin Tybura isn’t Allen Crowder, and Greg Hardy didn’t have any idea what to do from a defensive standpoint.

Tybura freed his left arm and that opened the door for him to start dropping punches. Hardy barely moved or made any reasonable effort to escape. Instead, Tybura landed several shots as Hardy turtled up and didn’t fight back. The referee stopped the fight to give Tybura a perfect 4-0 record in 2020, whereas Hardy suffers his first TKO loss.

Watch the ending below:

There’s no way to discuss Hardy without mentioning that a lot of the vitriol towards him comes as a result of his domestic violence case while he was in the NFL. Subsequent other behavioral issues saw him out of the league entirely and the UFC ultimately signed him anyway and have consistently hailed him as some sort of redemption story. One can only imagine how loud the crowd response would’ve been if there were fans in the arena.
