“GET OFF THE STAGE KAMARU! GET OFF!”
A lot of fighters were excited to have fans back in the building after competing behind closed doors for more than a year (thanks, coronavirus), but I have a feeling some UFC combatants are already missing the days of silent film now that Florida has unleashed its “fans” upon the promotion.
I get it, fan is short for fanatic and you’re supposed to be excited about the upcoming UFC 261 pay-per-view (PPV) event, but the maniac screaming at the top of his lungs (1:52) during Thursday’s press conference might be getting a little too carried away.
Or maybe he was just a big Foxy fan?
Part of me wonders if his reaction will be equally strong if Kamaru Usman steamrolls Jorge Masvidal in tomorrow night’s (April 24) pay-per-view (PPV) main event from Jacksonville, where “The Nigerian Nightmare” defends his 170-pound title for a second time against Jorge Masvidal.
I guess will soon see if that “full camp” made a difference, or just served as an excuse for another championship payday.
