Check out the betting odds for tonight’s Bellator 266 card, where Yoel Romero makes his promotional debut as an underdog against Phil Davis in light heavyweight main event.

On this 18th day of September in the year 2021, Bellator 266 will be taking place before UFC 266 happens later this month. Tonight’s headliner will see the promotional debut of a superhuman freak-athlete known as Yoel Romero, who will be taking on the company’s former 205-pound champion, Phil Davis. Bloody Elbow is here with the betting lines for Romero’s return to light heavyweight, as well as for the rest of the Bellator 266 lineup.

The 44-year Romero has defied Father Time thus far, but the oddsmakers have listed him as a slight betting underdog to the 36-year old Davis. Yoel’s moneyline can be scooped up for a value ranging anywhere from +100 up to +117. As for his fellow UFC veteran in Davis, the former Bellator champ is sitting with a small favored line of -125. It is a little bit surprising to see Yoel with a plus line here against Phil. Typically, it’s the explosive wrestlers like Romero that tend to give Davis fits, and put him in a sort of a super risk-adverse shell.

Davis vs. Romero is scheduled for three-rounds, and the bookies do believe that all 15-minutes will be needed to decide a winner. The prop bet ‘Fight goes to decision ’holds the favored line at -156, with a +122 comeback on the ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ option. That makes sense if we’re going to get a gun-shy Davis taking on somebody who is notorious for exploding, and then taking a bunch of time to charge back up. Honestly, this matchup is more likely to be a dud of a fight than it is to be a barn burner.

Romero is downright horrifying when he is in the act of killing an opponent, and Davis has become much more lethal under the Bellator banner — but pitted against one another might not exactly equate to such fireworks. The exotic bet ‘Davis wins inside distance’ is posted up with a massive underdog tag of +450, with ‘Romero wins inside distance’ posing with a more likely, yet still sizable, value of +250.

The odds depict the most likely scenario for the Bellator 166 main event as one where Phil gets a decision win. You can find ‘Davis wins by decision’ for around +155, with ‘Romero wins by decision’ being spotted as high as +330. Davis has a round winning style, except for when he refuses to pull the trigger. Romero is good at making the strikes that he actually does throw and land count for a lot, but Davis is renowned for prioritizing his defense and personal safety. Let’s just hope this contest over-produces.
