It’s been a crazy few weeks for Carlos Condit.
At UFC 137, Condit was originally slated to take on former two-time world champion BJ Penn as the co headliner. However, after main event fighter Nick Diaz failed to show for several pre-fight press junkets, Condit was moved towards the championship bout opposite of welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre.
Diaz was later re-booked for a match against Penn and a series of unfortunate circumstances followed.
St-Pierre suffered a knee injury in the weeks leading up to the bout, forcing Condit’s title shot to be put on hold. Then, Diaz dazzled the fans and media alike with his performance against “The Prodigy”, which later re-claimed his shot at the 170-pound title, leaving Condit by the wayside.
Now, Condit will have his opportunity to fight for the belt once again, but not until he picks up another win along the way.
