Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn lost a close split decision to Nick Diaz just a few weeks ago in the main event of UFC 137, telling fans that he was taking some time off to consider his future inside the cage.
Speaking to HDNet’s Michael Schiavello this past Saturday, Penn’s brother Reagan was competing on the televised ProElite: Big Guns event, the former UFC champ said he’d only consider coming back “If it interests me.”
“I don’t really like the results I’ve been getting. Take some time off. Take some time away from the sport. If I ever feel it again, I’ll come back. If it interests me, if it excites me. I don’t want to be sitting in the locker room saying, I can’t believe I’m still doing this. If it excites me, we’ll see how everything goes, but I definitely need some time away.”
