A couple of late suspension notifications were announced by MMAjunkie.com early this morning for last July’s UFC 149 event, as welterweight Matt Riddle (7-3)and featherweight Francisco Rivera (9-2) were both handed 90 day retroactive suspensions for July 21.
Riddle tested positive for marijuana and Rivera tested positive for an over-the-counter stimulant. Both men did not appeal their sentence and apologized for their actions.
The retroactive 90-day suspension ends this Sunday on October 21st.
UFC 149 took place on July 21 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Riddle earned a third round submission win over Chris Clements, as well as the “Submission of the Night” bonus, while Rivera stopped Roland Delorme via first round knockout.
The results of both those matches will still stand.
