If there was any doubt about the ability and status of the once unheralded Marlon Moraes, chances are those doubts are gone. After besting former UFC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres in the first World Series of Fighting event, Marloes followed up with a head kick KO victory over Tyson Nam at WSOF II on Saturday night at Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The knockout came officially at 2:55 of the first round.
While there was a brief opening feeling out period between both fighters, it was Moraes begin to open up in the second half of the frame. The Brazilian was both offensive and able to time Nam, landing proactive uppercuts and reactionary hooks that immediately had Nam reeling and acting defensive.
The beginning of the end came as Nam circled to the outside of Moraes right leg. Nam, the fighter who gained fame for defeating Bellator’s bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas in a Shooto bout in Brazil, held his hands as if he was trying to block what he thought would be a middle kick. Instead, the strike collided with Nam’s head and sent him crashing to the mat. A few follow up, quick strikes from Moraes ended the action there.
Moraes moves to 10-4-1 while Nam drops to 12-5.
