It looks like Bellator MMA will be forking over a payment of $1 million to rapper 50 Cent.

For the past several months, 50 and Bellator MMA President Scott Coker have been in discussions with one another. Nobody knew exactly what the pair could’ve been discussing, with some fans speculating that 50 could be negotiating to actually fight for the promotion.

50 Cent recently fed these rumors by teasing a fight challenge towards Bellator heavyweight Rampage Jackson.

It turns out 50 Cent and Coker’s dealings may have simply been negotiations over the rapper’s “Get The Strap” catchphrase. 50 took to Instagram and announced Bellator will pay him $1 million for the rights to the catchphrase and to expect and see “Get The Strap” on some Bellator-related apparel:

It should also be noted that 50 had some interesting comments about Bellator’s recent announcement regarding their multi-year programming deal with DAZN:

Khabib’s manager: McGregor ‘running out of money’

Ali Abdelaziz thinks former UFC champ Conor McGregor is running low on money — and that that’s why he’s open to face Khabib Nurmagomedov.

If you ask Ali Abdelaziz, there’s a certain reason why Conor McGregor appears open to face UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in his return fight — money.

Nurmagomedov’s manager recently spoke to TMZ and said he believes McGregor, a former 155-pound champ who was stripped of his title earlier this year, is running low on cash. That is, of course, despite McGregor’s August 2017 boxing match against former world champ Floyd Mayweather, in which he earned approximately $100 million.

Abdelaziz said Nurmagomedov facing McGregor will help the Irishman make more money, as it’d be massive fight on pay-per-view, but also said the Russian champ is in.

“The last time I talked to Dana, he seemed this is the fight he wants to do,” Abdelaziz said. “This is the biggest fight in UFC history, the biggest money maker. Conor is running out of money; this is why he agreed to fight Khabib. It’s OK — we are going to contribute to him making some money, but at the end of the day, we owe him an ass whooping. We need to get this ass whooping for Khabib and get it out of the way.”

Abdelaziz made it clear (again) that he’s not a fan of McGregor, who last competed in MMA in November 2016 when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight strap.

“If this is what Dana wants, we will do it,” he said. “[Nurmagomedov] doesn’t like the guy. We don’t like the guy. We don’t like his team. We don’t like what they represent. We don’t like what Conor represents. I like some of the stuff he does, to be honest, but he thinks he’s a gangster — I don’t think he is. Gangsters, they end in jail or get beat up.”

At this time, Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor is not a done deal, but UFC president Dana White has said in recent months that he expects the fight to be put together soon enough. Abdelaziz said the bout could happen either in October or December at Las Vegas events, or in November at Madison Square Garden. The manager was doubtful of the latter option, however, as it’s not clear McGregor will be allowed to compete in New York due to his April bus attack.

Al Iaquinta Goes Off On Haters After UFC Lincoln Fiasco

Does Al Iaquinta deserve all of this hate?

The post Al Iaquinta Goes Off On Haters After UFC Lincoln Fiasco appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

Late last night, the UFC lost one of its most exciting match-ups from this summer when lightweight Al Iaquinta announced his reported fight against fan favorite Justin Gaethje was not happening at August 25’s UFC Lincoln.

Speculation ran rampant about the fight, which was officially announced by the UFC this week but apparently not actually there according to Iaquinta, who has long been at odds with the UFC, something that has been well-documented by his highly-publicized tirade against his employers of late.

So the fight seemed official, but Iaquinta made waves by announcing the fight was actually not happening in response to a fan asking on Twitter last night:

‘Ragin’ Al’ then lived up to his namesake when Gaethje said he knew he would ‘bitch out,’ claiming “The Highlight” would be brain dead and broke in two years.

When a fan pointed out to him he perhaps shouldn’t call Gaethje a bitch when he was the one not fighting, Iaquinta claimed it everyone else who had back out perhaps suggesting it was the UFC who wouldn’t meet his demands for the bout:

Iaquinta didn’t stop there, however, continuing the online battle with his critics today after a comment posed the question if he should just go back to real estate if he didn’t really want to fight:

Responding to the same ‘fan,’ Iaquinta admitted that selling houses was what he was doing right now and made the most sense:

Finally, Iaquinta blew up at a comment that deemed his trashing of Gaethje hypocritical, as saying he would fight anyone wasn’t really a characteristic of a ‘b***h’:

TJ Dillashaw Claims Demetrious Johnson Is Ducking Him

TJ Dillashaw strongly believes that Demetrious Johnson is ducking him.

Johnson will defend his flyweight belt against Henry Cejudo at the UFC 227 card while Dillashaw will fight Cody Garbrandt once again as he defends his bantamweight title in the main event.

Johnson and UFC President Dana White frequently exchanged words in early 2017 over this bout. The reason for that was due to Johnson not being receptive to a fight with Dillashaw even though White and other UFC officials were pushing for it last year.

White came out and mocked Johnson for taking it. This led to Johnson firing back and claimed that White threatened to shut down his entire division.

White denied that and gave Johnson the fight he wanted, which was against Ray Borg that was almost guaranteed to do low PPV numbers.

Dillashaw claimed to TMZ Sports in a recent interview that the UFC flyweight champion is ducking him because he’s afraid of a true challenge.

“It was a fight that already made sense. The fans wanted it. I wanted it. The UFC wanted it. It’s all about him manning up and accepting the challenge. He’s got a target on his back. I respect the guy as a fighter. I respect him as a man, but it’s time to man up and get this thing done,” Dillashaw said, per MMA Weekly.

“I do believe so,” Dillashaw replied when asked if Johnson was ducking him. “I believe that he’s comfortable where he’s at. He’s comfortable fighting the guys he’s fighting. I think I bring a real threat. I bring a real threat to the table that he’s not willing to accept.”

The UFC 227 pay-per-view event is set to take place on August 4, 2018, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.
