Matt Brown is a fighter that really gets the upper hand when the fight gets gritty considering he is really powerful with all four limbs and has an extraordinarily strong chin which can take a lashing. Another impressive factor about Brown is his cardio vascular endurance which essentially means he is able to fight with the same energy levels and movement in the last few minutes of the fight as he is able to do in the first few minutes of the fight.

Brown, however, is not the best defensively as he compromises defending himself. His best form of defense is simply is attack and often leaves himself exposed to blows. Another con with Brown is the fact that he is not very good when the fight goes to the ground. Often times, Brown has been let down by his grappling. Ten of Brown’s losses have been courtesy of tapping out to a submission.

Thankfully for Brown, Ellenberger who is an experienced boxer is not exactly a grappler either. He likes to fight standing up where he can dish out his powerful and quick head shots.

He is known as the juggernaut and has really grown by leaps and bounds in the stand – up fighting game. Even though Ellenerberger, on paper Ellenberger has everything needed to become champion, but in real life, he has simply never been able to concoct everything together and materialize into a champion – at least not yet.

Ellenberger has a lot to prove and he will be looking to grab this opportunity with both arms.

Again, this is not an easy fight to predict. Technically speaking, Ellenberger looks the better fighter on paper, but is his mind where it needs to be? Is his confidence lacking? Can he turn around his woeful recent form? We will just have to wait and watch.

UFC 201: Rose Namajunas Vs Karolia Kowalkiewicz

Rose Namajunas has been one of the most dominant woman fighters in the sport right now and is arguably the best fighter in the strawweight division in the world. Incredibly, she has achieved all this and is only 24 years old. The future looks bright for Namajunas who has climbed ladders to the top during her brief MMA career. One thing that really sets her a class apart from other fighters is her striking game which is in a league of its own. She has fine – tuned her striking and all other aspects of her fighting over the recent past and has transformed a really top shelf fighter.

Namajunas is blessed with timing and reach which she uses together to deliver tactically flawless blows right at the very edge of her reach. Furthermore, she has also vastly improved her grappling which was already highly impressive during her younger fighting days. Namajunas is also multi disciplined and holds a black belt in karate and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and being well versed with techniques from these disciplines means that she is especially lethal when the fight gets close to the edge and she can get her opponent on the cage and to the mat.

On the other hand, the Polish Karolina Kowalkiewicz has a decade of experience under her belt and is fluent in both Krav Maga and Muay Thai. The polish fighter is strong and agile which makes landing a hit on her all the more difficult.

It is going to be an interesting matchup which we have to concede is very difficult to call of predict, but if we HAD to pick a winner, we would go with Rose Namajunas.

UFC 201 is all set to unfold in Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30th 2016 and the fight card looks very promising indeed. One fight that really catches the eye is the welterweight face off wherein reigning champ Robbie Lawler will take on Tyron Woodley. The fight will aired on a pay per view basis, in fact, it is UFC 201’s pay per view main event.

Another fight that stands out and is highly anticipated in UFC fight night 201 is the fight between fan favorite Rose Namajunas who will have to fend off the fiercely rising Polish female fighter Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Now let’s take a look at what bets could make you some moolah.

Looking at the women’s fight, it is important to consider the impeccable form that Rose “Thug” Namajunas has been in lately. Not only is she on a superb winning streak, but what really stands out is the manner in which she is winning her fights and the sheer confidence with which she is going into them.

Karolina is rising to fame at an unprecedented rate, but we feel that she is taking on a challenge much too difficult for her at this point in her career. We are pretty confident that Namajunas should be able to clinch the victory, but expect Karolina to create some problems for her.

Turning our attention to Lawler vs Woodley, it is hard to disagree with the bookies on this one. Both are tactical fighters, and are both not afraid to go with the flow either. However, Lawler looked a shadow of himself against Condit and that is not promising at all. Our pick for this would be Woodley by a first round knock – out.

‘Realist’ Nate Diaz: There’s a probability I’m going to get ‘knocked out’

Nate Diaz isn’t too optimistic about his chances in the Octagon, but that hasn’t stopped the former title challenger from having massive success in the UFC.

Nate Diaz is a special breed of fighter. Unlike most fighters, Diaz doesn’t prepare for his bouts with a positive mindset. In fact, according to the Stockton local, who rematches Conor McGregor in a welterweight tilt at UFC 202, Diaz goes into fights thinking he’s ‘probably gonna get knocked out.’

The former lightweight title challenger spoke about his preparation for UFC 202 on ‘Conan’ earlier this week.

“I write it off from the beginning like, ‘I’m probably gonna get knocked out,'” Diaz said, per MMA Fighting. “Just take that and accept it. And then go in there and make it happen. When it doesn’t happen, when you come out with a win, that’s pretty exciting.”

McGregor, on the other hand, wouldn’t dare utter a word of negativity out loud. Instead, the Irishman turns the negativity towards his opponents, finding a single gap in the armour — whether physical or mental — and exposing it to the media. Prior to UFC 196, which saw Diaz submit ‘The Notorious’ in the second round with a rear-naked choke, the tactic had worked very well. McGregor’s unerring confidence and bravado seemed to fluster previous opponents, but Diaz was having none of it.

Diaz, who is ranked as the No. 4 lightweight in the world, considers himself a ‘realist’ in a sport full of optimists.

“They’re all full of it. I’m a realist, man,” Diaz said. “I accept the fact that there’s a probability you’re gonna get taken out and it’s gonna be pretty embarrassing. I accept that and go out there and don’t let it happen. And hopefully come out on top.”

Despite his realistic outlook, which some would view as more pessimistic than realistic, Diaz has only been knocked out once in 30 fights — Josh Thompson scored a head kick TKO over the Cesar Gracie black belt at UFC on FOX 7 — and has proved to be one of the hardest fighters to finish on the UFC roster.

His rematch with McGregor will headline the UFC 202 pay-per-view on August 20 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Justin Scoggins is out of his flyweight bout against Ian McCall at UFC 201 due to weight cutting issues. While the UFC has yet to pull McCall from the event, getting an opponent for him on such short notice is not likely.
