Conor McGregor Ripped by Jose Aldo in Bizarre New Post-UFC 196 Attack

Jose Aldo’s quest to reignite a war of words with Conor McGregor has taken an explosive new twist, with the Brazilian UFC star suggesting the featherweight champion was “like a kid getting slapped” in his loss to Nate Diaz on Saturday.

Immediately after McGregor’s loss, Aldo took to Twitter (Warning: Link contains NSFW language) to brand the Notorious a “p—y.” Now, in an interview with Sportv (h/t the Irish Independent), he revealed he was far from impressed by the efforts of his UFC 194 opponent:

I didn’t celebrate when he lost. It means nothing to me; they are two fighters constantly cursing at each other. People cheered; I’m happy for that. I think it was a moment of joy for Brazilians. He was slapped in the face. He looked like a kid getting slapped.

Some fighters have a lot of power, others don’t. He has soap hands. Of course anybody will go down with a punch to the chin. Even if a little kid hits you. He has soap hands. He is always punching, and nobody ever felt his punches. With me, they put a skateboard there for me to slip.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He wanted out. He’s a wuss. He fell down and quit right away.

More to follow.

Conor McGregor defiant in wake of Nate Diaz loss, torches UFC ‘p—y’ during epic Facebook rant

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Conor McGregor got a painful lesson in 209-jitsu last Saturday night (March 5, 2016), after he was forced to surrender to Nate Diaz in their UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPv) headliner (highlights).

But at least he had the balls to show up.

That’s the message from “Notorious” in the wake of his first defeat under the UFC banner, which drew criticism from Brazilian haters Jose Aldo and Rafael dos Anjos. The former called McGregor a “pussy” for coming up short, while the latter found his ex-foe “soft.”

McGregor lights them up on Facebook:

I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed. I will never apologize for taking a shot. Shit happens. I’ll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am. If another champion goes up 2 weights let me know. If your tired of me talking money, take a nap. I’ll still be here when you wake up with the highest PPV and the gate. Still talking multi 7’s. Thank you to the true support and fuck the hate that came out of the woodwork. I love it all. Its still steak for breakfast. I’ve been here many times in my life in some form or another. I’ll eat it all and come back stronger. Aldo you are a pussy. Dos anjos you are a pussy. When the history books are written, I showed up. You showed up on Twitter. To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges. Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on. Nate I will see you again.

McGregor is expected to return to the 145-pound division and defend his title at UFC 200.

Whether that’s against Aldo or Frankie Edgar remains to be seen. The Brazilian probably should settle down, since the past twelve months saw him withdraw from a McGregor fight (UFC 189), get knocked out when they finally did fight (UFC 194), and turn down the rematch (UFC 196).

Diaz, meanwhile, is currently on his private yacht setting sale for Ibiza.

Conor McGregor rode in to UFC 196 on a hype train like very few before. Facing Nate Diaz in a welterweight showdown, the UFC featherweight champion proved he had no fear of moving up in to unfamiliar territory as far as weight is concerned, but it was not a gamble that paid off. In fact, it probably couldn’t have gone much worse for ‘The Notorious,’ as he was finished in the second round by a rampant Diaz.

The Stockton bad boy wasn’t always in charge though, as it looked like McGregor was getting the better of the striking exchanges in the opening round. ‘The Notorious’ came out confident in the second, but this only played in to Diaz’s hands, as he began countering and landing clean. McGregor’s hands were low which was a big mistake, enabling Diaz to utilise his reach to perfection, and the Stockton slap’s marked the beginning of the end for the Irish boxer.

So McGregor likely goes back to the featherweight division to defend the title he defeated Jose Aldo for at UFC 194. His trip to 170 pounds didn’t work out, but also would never have happened if Rafael dos Anjos were not injured. Perhaps we’d be telling a very different tale if the lightweight champion had made it to the March 5 pay-per-view. What we do know is that the internet can be a very cruel place, and in similar style to when Ronda Rousey lost at UFC 193, McGregor was subject to a backlash from online fans.

Rather unlike ‘Rowdy’ before him, the Irishman is not shying away from the negative vibes. Facing things head on, McGregor sent a statement to fans, haters, Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz and the rest of the MMA world.

Talking of Jose Aldo, the former undisputed featherweight champion has also been active on social media since McGregor’s loss. We saw how he trolled McGregor in defeat, and now ‘Scarface’ has sent a message to Frankie Edgar about who should fight for the 145-pound title next.

In a fashion we’ve now come to expect of Aldo, he isn’t exactly understanding of ‘The Answer’s’ plight.

Amanda Nunes hopes she can get a title shot following her UFC 196 win over Valetina Shevchenko, but Dana White already promised Miesha Tate would fight Ronda Rousey for a third time.

There is a new champion in the female bantamweight division, and Amanda Nunes feels like she has earned the right to challenger for Miesha Tate’s newly conquered belt. Fresh off a unanimous decision win over Valentina Shevchenko, Nunes believes her time has come to fight for the title.

Even though Dana White already stated Ronda Rousey would make a trilogy bout with Tate next.

“I don’t think there should be a rematch. The weight class could use something new,” Nunes told Combate. “I hope I’m next so we can shake things up a little so people can value the sport more.”

“Sometimes they focus too much on one person. It was Ronda, Ronda, Ronda. Then Holly, Holly, Holly. Now there’s Miesha. I hope someone else comes along. I hope I get an opportunity.”

Before her victory against Shevchenko at UFC 196, Amanda Nunes also defeated Sara McMann by rear naked choke and Shayna Baszler by TKO.  Apart from Shevchenko, all of her UFC wins have come inside of the first round.

Last Saturday night (March 5, 2016) was a great night. Or was it a horrible night?

Your answer may depend on who you were rooting for in the UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, as Nate Diaz blew the roof off MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his second-round submission win over Conor McGregor.

It was a wild scene.

In the UFC 196 co-main event, Miesha Tate spoiled plans for a Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm championship rematch by choking out “The Preacher’s Daughter” in the fifth and final frame of their women’s bantamweight contest. “Cupcake” is now the 135-pound queen.

Missed the event? Too hungover to remember what happened?

No worries, as we’ve gone ahead and compiled links to all of the top stories coming out of “McGregor vs. Diaz,” including breaking news, highlights, reactions, results, recaps, and more, all conveniently laid out in the UFC 196 wrap-up post below.
