While it’s certainly nice to imagine Jake Paul will disappear magically back from whence he came by the end of 2021, all signs point to him being around for much longer. We’ll just have to learn to live in a combat sports world where “Problem Child” is a perpetual reality.

If you’d like to see what that world might look like, Paul is giving a little preview on social media heading into his Aug. 29, 2021, boxing bout against former UFC champion, Tyron Woodley, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The YouTube star posted up a 12-man “hit list” written out on a whiteboard. Already crossed out: his first three boxing opponents: An Eson Gib, Nate Robinson and Ben Askren. Future opponents: Tyron Woodley, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Nate or Nick Diaz, Kamaru Usman, “Timmy” Fury (a.k.a. Tyson lil brother Tommy Fury), Conor McGregor, KSI, Gervonta Davis, and finally with question marks around it: Logan Paul.

Next up for Paul (unless it’s an immediate rematch against Tyron Woodley) is most likely 6-0 boxer Tommy Fury. Showtime recently signed Tommy to a two-fight contract with the first going down against mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Anthony Taylor on the Paul-Woodley undercard. The second, if Fury manages to make a splash later this month, will come against Jake Paul in what will be Paul’s first fight against a “real” boxer.

Past that we have the usual pastiche of top boxing and MMA names: Paul has called out Conor McGregor multiple times, and has more recently been talking about the Diaz brothers a lot. Kamaru Usman is a new target and just another sign the dominant welterweight champ is starting to make some headway amongst the casuals.

Over on the boxing side, Paul lists Canelo Alvarez (which really seems like a bad idea given Alvarez is currently breaking the faces of his opponents) and then Floyd Mayweather’s protege Gervota Davis.

Any fight involving Paul continues to be a freak show fight, but the most freak show are a fight with British YouTuber KSI, who kicked off this whole Paul brother boxing invasion by fighting Logan Paul twice. Their first fight was ruled a draw, while the second saw KSI win a split decision. Then there’s Jake’s desire to box Logan, which seems like the culmination of this entire fluffing effort: build enough hype to have the two brothers show down, and then ride off with all the money.

Of course, if Jake manages to step into the ring with anyone on the tougher side of his list, serious injury could occur. I don’t know if I’ll go as far as wishing for that, but a reminder that boxing ain’t a sport to fool around in wouldn’t hurt anyone but the Pauls at this point.

Sean O’Malley has admitted that wants to avoid fighting tough opponents at the moment.

During a remarkably honest conversation on the “No Jumper” podcast, ‘Suga’ explained that his slow progression towards the bantamweight ranks is calculated and has all to do with the amount of money he makes.

“Next fight, a lot of people want me to fight someone ranked,” O’Malley said. “They wanted me to fight someone ranked last fight. I was supposed to fight Louis Smolka (at UFC 264). For me, I have a contract to fight a certain amount of fights, and I’m gonna get paid a certain amount of money whether I fight Louis Smolka, the dude I was supposed to fight, or I fight Petr Yan, the No. 1 bantamweight in the UFC. I get paid the same. I’m gonna fight this dude (who is lower). And I’m going to fight this dude on a Conor McGregor pay-per-view.

Chael Sonnen always says fight the worst dude on the highest part of the card,” O’Malley added. “A lot of bantamweights, and just people in the UFC, they definitely hate, and it comes from jealousy. I’m getting way more eye balls than them. I perform in there. You can go and watch some of these guys perform, and you literally pick up your phone, start surfing Instagram, you just don’t give a f*ck what they’re doing.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

O’Malley is fresh off a third-round TKO win at UFC 264. The 26-year-old squared off against UFC newcomer Kris Moutinho on the undercard of Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor III. Prior to that, O’Malley faced Thomas Almedia who entered the fight on a losing streak that stretches back to 2016.

The bantamweight prospect has only stepped up his level of competition on one occasion. O’Malley fought Marlon Vera at UFC 252 in August 2020 and was stopped inside one round by ‘Chito’.

Do you think Sean O’Malley is being smart by avoiding tough fights until his level of pay increases?

Paige VanZant has opened up about her mental health and detailed how losing to Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19 left her feeling suicidal.

“I’m bummed out. I mean, I’m bummed out to say the least,” Paige VanZant said on the latest episode of “A Kickass Love Story”. Everyone expects me to lose, and everyone expects me to fail. I don’t know, I just feel like people have this specific perception of who I am and especially online. It’s crazy how much people can hate on a single person. I just don’t get it. I pride myself on being a good person, and I think that’s the most important thing for me: I never talk bad about my opponents. I never say a single negative thing about their character. You never know what somebody is going through, and you never know what someone is on the verge of.”

VanZant is now 0-2 in BKFC. The 27-year-old also lost three of her final four UFC fights. Meanwhile, her Bellator MMA fighter husband, Austin Vanderford remains unbeaten and is on the verge of a middleweight title shot.

“I told him I didn’t want to live anymore, that this wasn’t for me anymore,” VanZant said. “Life wasn’t for me anymore. It’s disappointing. It was hard.”

“It can be hard when Austin and I are married, and he keeps winning, and I keep losing,” VanZant added. “But honestly, him and his success is like the only thing that keeps me going, because I do feel like we win together. His next fight will be for a title, and I know he’s gonna win. I just know how good it’s gonna feel for him and for me, and I’m so happy. I’m so proud of him. His title fight to look forward to is all worth it.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

Paul is looking to go 4-0 and follow up on wins over Ben Askren, Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib.

Conor McGregor Labelled A ‘Snitch’ By Chael Sonnen For Outing ‘Drunk’ Daniel Cormier

Chael Sonnen has had his say on the beef between Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier.

‘Notorious’ has been locked in a social media feud with Cormier over the last week. McGregor took several shots at ‘DC’ before the retired two-weight champion, turned UFC commentator fired back.

Most notably, McGregor accused Cormier of being drunk on the job. The Irishman claimed ‘DC’ was intoxicated while working media events at UFC 264 and even went as far as suggesting the MMA legend should be fired.

Daniel Cormier is a fat mess. Getting into worse condition by the day,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “God bless him. Showing up drunk at media events the very day before he was in the booth calling my fight. Drunk at a media event working? The day before being a commentator on the biggest fight in history?”

“It is a sackable offense for a commentator to be drunk at press work the day before commentating the big fight,” McGregor added. “Dreadful! Get it together. Belching in the mic at a press event and an all wtf. The day before commenting the big fight? Is this guy serious? Disgraceful.”

Sonnen isn’t a fan of McGregor airing Cormier’s dirty laundry in public.

“From the standpoint of Mr. Entertainer, he’s now a snitch,” Sonnen said in a video posted to his YouTube channel. “Daniel did not show up to anything drunk, guys. Do not mistake that [but] let’s say he did. Conor said he did. Conor’s now a snitch. He rattled on him. You tattled on one of the boys? Did he do anything wrong? Was he obnoxious? Was he unruly? No. Okay well how did you know? ‘I just know. I could smell it.’ Then you are a snitch. Why did you tattle on him? Particularly from the guy who’s in the business of selling alcohol and shows up at press conferences with a whisky right on the desk.” (Transcribed by ThirstyForNews)

Do you agree with Chael Sonnen? Is Conor McGregor a snitch?
