Conor McGregor made a surprise appearance earlier tonight (Fri., Mar. 3, 2023) at UFC 285’s ceremonial weigh ins (results HERE) in Las Vegs, Nevada, but it wasn’t help promote this weekend’s heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane.

McGregor has been in Vegas for the past few weeks filming the next season of The Ultimate Fighter opposite Michael Chandler. “Notorious” hasn’t competed since a loss to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021 and is just dipping his toes back into the UFC pool. So when the former UFC double champ showed up to UFC 285’s weigh ins with a microphone in hand few knew what to expect.

Unfortunately for Jones and Gane, McGregor did not make his surprise appearance to help fuel tomorrow’s heavyweight clash. Instead, the Irish superstar stepped on stage to promote his upcoming role in the movie “Road House” and to let fans know they were going to be part of the shoot, specifically a scene featuring a weigh in.

“Who’s ready for tomorrow night”? asked McGregor as the Vegas crowd started to cheer (shown above). “We have the biggest fight in Road House history: Harris vs. Dalton UFC 222. Everyone in this arena you’re about to be part of my movie.”

The “Road House” weigh ins scene can be seen below:

McGregor, who will fight Chandler at some point later this year, has been working on the “Road House” movie alongside Gyllenhaal since last summer. The former UFC king has been juggling a budding Hollywood career with rehabilitation and preparation for his UFC return, but McGregor could be running himself thin by doing both.

Staredowns! Jones Sizes Up Gane Ahead Of Heavyweight Debut

We are just 24 hours away from Jon Jones’ long-awaited heavyweight debut tomorrow night (Sat., Mar. 4, 2023) at UFC 285 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and fight fans can now check out the official weigh-ins staredowns.

Tomorrow night will be a massive opportunity for Jones to return after a three-year layoff and remind the combat community that he remains the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. The former UFC light heavyweight champion is already widely considered the best fighter of all time, but Jones still feels the need to validate his role in today’s sport and chase down the most powerful title in all of combat sports.

Ahead of Jones’ heavyweight debut he squared off one final time with formidable counterpart, Ciryl Gane. Check out the Friday faceoff below:

Also gracing the UFC 285 main card is reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. “Bullet” will be looking to defend her title for the eighth-straight time as she takes on veteran contender Alexa Grasso. Shevchenko is the betting favorite to retain her title and essentially close out the 125-pound division. A victory for the champ could result in her long-awaited move back up to bantamweight for a trilogy match with UFC champion Amanda Nunes.

The final faceoff between Shevchenko and Grasso can be seen below:

In addition, UFC 285’s PPV main card will also feature the Octagon debut of highly-touted middleweight prospect Bo Nickal. The former three-time NCAA Division I national wrestling champion has been dominating the competition on the Contender Series, but now Nickal will try to carve out a promising run in the UFC’s stacked 185-pound division. He’ll be taking on veteran fighter Jamie Pickett and is currently coming in at a massive -2200 favorite. Needless to say, it will be an unprecedented letdown if Nickal doesn’t prevail Saturday night.

Check out their final staredown below:

Brendan Allen filled in for a canceled main event and ended up submitting middleweight contender Andre Muniz tonight (Sat., Feb. 25, 2023) at UFC Vegas 70 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After Nikita Krylov was pulled from his main event clash with Ryan Spann a co-headliner between Allen and Muniz was bumped to the marquee. It was short-notice to say the least, but an incredible opportunity for the two streaking middleweights.

After a first round that saw both Allen and Muniz land good shots on the feet, Allen pulled out his grappling in the second and took the Brazilian fighter down. Muniz is known for his submission skills, but Allen was heavy in top position and started to wilt Muniz away. Eventually, he sunk in the rear-naked choke finish.

Check out the final moments above courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

Allen, 27, has now won his last four trips to the Octagon with three submissions along the way. Not many middleweights wanted to fight Muniz, but Allen took this fight and looked better than ever. His performance will certainly lead to a middleweight ranking come next week.

Tatiana Suarez returned from nearly four years away from the Octagon to submit women’s flyweight veteran Montana De La Rosa earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 25, 2023) at UFC Vegas 70 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Suarez likely had some cobwebs to dust off in her first UFC fight since 2019, but you couldn’t really tell. The women’s strawweight contender was moving up in weight for her return yet still managed to lean on her grappling to subdue the bigger De La Rosa. There were one or two moments when De La Rosa broke free when she wasn’t supposed to, but that’s the name of the game.

All in all, Suarez looked just as dominant in her return and ended up taking advantage of another ground exchange in the second round to secure the guillotine finish.

Check out the final moments above courtesy of UFC/ESPN. Suarez’s post-fight interview can be seen below:

Suarez, 32, is now 6-0 as a member of the UFC roster and is once again one of the most dominant female contenders in the sport. The former Ultimate Fighter winner will be heading back down to 115 pounds after tonight, but this win will go a long way for her title aspirations in 2023.
