Ultimate Fighter viewers were treated to the sight of not one but two fighters getting choked into unconsciousness in the Octagon on Wednesday night, as both of the fights on this week’s episode ended with submissions.

As we do each week, MMAFighting.com interviewed Michael Johnson, a member of Team GSP, about the show. Johnson talked about the two fights, his trash talk with rival coach Josh Koscheck, and how the guys on Team GSP felt about improving their record to 5-1 after the sixth fight.

Tito Ortiz will be attending the UFC 121 press conference on Wednesday.UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez, undercard fighters Jake Shields, Martin Kampmann, Matt Hamill and Tito Ortiz, along with UFC President Dana White, will all meet the media on Wednesday at the UFC 121 pre-fight press conference. And if you can’t be there at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, you can watch it live right here at MMAFighting.com.

The press conference is open to the public, and it will be a good opportunity to see how the fans in Los Angeles react to Lesnar and Velasquez. Although Lesnar is the UFC’s biggest draw, he’s something of a villain to many fans. Velasquez, on the other hand, is a quiet, soft-spoken and likable guy who has been marketed heavily in Southern California by the UFC. So expect Velasquez to get the cheers from the crowd.

The press conference begins at 5 PM ET and the video is below.

Michael BispingThere was quite a bit of hand-wringing among MMA fans this weekend over Spike TV showing UFC 120 on tape delay from London, leading to some fans finding out the results of the fights before they aired in the United States. But Spike TV says that the hand-wringing has been limited to a relatively small number of fans, and that the majority of viewers prefer to watch the fights in prime time.

“We actually don’t get many viewer calls,” said David Schwarz, VP Communications at Spike. “I’ve never received any and I know it’s very minimal. … Our research says Saturday night is fight night — guys are home, they get together with their friends and it’s a natural time to watch the fight.”

Former Ultimate Fighter winner James Wilks fought in front of his British fans Saturday at UFC 120, but he put on an unimpressive performance in losing a decision to Claude Patrick.

Patrick got double underhooks against the cage and then secured a takedown early in the first round, and from there he dominated the rest of the round from the top. Wilks did attempt one submission from the bottom, but for the most part the first round consisted of Patrick staying on top of Wilks and pounding on him on the ground.

Cheick Kongo and Travis Browne fought to a disappointing draw on Saturday at UFC 120, as Kongo won two rounds, Browne won one and a point deduction against Kongo turned decisive.

It wasn’t a particularly entertaining fight, and it won’t do anything for either fighter’s career, or for the UFC’s heavyweight division, which could have used a good fight that established either Kongo or Browne as a heavyweight to keep an eye on in 2011.
