UFC fighter Lyman Good is suing the manufacturer Gaspari Nutrition and Vitamin Shoppe after he failed a United States Anti-Doping Agency drug test.

TMZ Sports reported the news Thursday, noting Good filed the suit in New York and is seeking unspecified damages. The fighter said he purchased the multi-vitamin Anavite before his UFC 205 fight, which was found to contain 1-andro upon further testing.

The 1-andro—an illegal anabolic steroid—was allegedly not mentioned on the label, and Good said Gaspari Nutrition “intentionally added the steroids in order to ‘increase sales in the competitive dietary supplements industry.'”

This comes after Marc Raimondi of MMA Fighting reported in April that Good received a six-month suspension from the USADA and was pulled from his UFC 205 fight against Belal Muhammad that was scheduled to take place in Madison Square Garden.

Raimondi noted the six-month suspension was retroactive to Oct. 24.

Good’s last fight was July 22, when he lost to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in a Round 3 split decision.

Ray Borg will get a chance at Demetrious Johnson after all.

The UFC announced Wednesday the two will fight at UFC 216 in Las Vegas on Oct. 7. This comes after Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting reported Friday the main card bout between the two fighters for UFC 215 in Edmonton, Canada, was cancelled because of Borg’s illness.

Borg “was deemed unfit to fight by UFC doctors,” Helwani wrote.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com noted an interim lightweight fight between Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson was initially announced as the headliner for UFC 216. It’s unclear if Johnson-Borg will now be the main event.

Johnson will be going for history in the upcoming bout.

Johnson—who last fought on April 15 when he defeated Wilson Reis by submission—tied Anderson Silva’s record by defending his flyweight title for a 10th consecutive time. Borg defeated Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night 106 on March 11 last time he was in the Octagon.

Jon Jones’ B Sample Reportedly Tests Positive for PEDs from UFC 214

UFC fighter Jon Jones‘ B sample reportedly tested positive for a banned substance.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reported the news Tuesday, noting the B sample was for Jones’ failed drug test from July 28. According to Okamoto, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in August told Jones he tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol on July 28.

This comes after Ariel HelwaniHelwani also noted Jones passed tests on July 6 and July 7, although his July 28 urine test came back positive.

Jones reclaimed the UFC light heavyweight title after defeating Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 via third-round knockout.

On Aug. 22, the UFC released a statement revealing it was told of Jones’ positive test that was collected after his weigh-in for the fight against Cormier. “Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed,” the statement read in part.

Shaun Al-Shatti of MMA Fighting noted this is not the first issue for Jones, who was stripped of his previous title following a hit-and-run accident and lost the UFC interim light heavyweight title when he tested positive for two banned substances before a scheduled fight against Cormier.

As for Tuesday’s news, Okamoto explained B samples rarely negate positive tests and granted “Jones’ investigation into the possibility of tainted supplements is most important to his defense at this time” since the fighter is denying taking the banned substance knowingly.

According to Okamoto, the UFC hasn’t yet stripped Jones of the title he won against Cormier, but the result will likely be changed to a no-contest. He could face a suspension of up to four years for a second anti-doping program offense.

Ray Borg and Demetrious Johnson will reportedly not be fighting in Saturday’s main event at UFC 215 in Edmonton, Canada.

On Thursday, Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting reported Borg had to withdraw from the scheduled bout because of an illness. The women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko will be the replacement pay-per-view main event.

Helwani cited sources who said Borg “was deemed unfit to fight by UFC doctors,” although he noted the illness was not related to the fighter’s weight cut.

Conor McGregor’s Coach Says He Wants Notorious to Fight Nate Diaz Next

John Kavanagh, head coach of Conor McGregor, wants his fighter to face Nate Diaz in a rubber match.

According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com, Kavanagh wrote a column for the Irish publication The42.ie in which he stated he wants Diaz to be McGregor’s next opponent. However, he granted the fight may not occur until 2018.

McGregor and Diaz split two matches in 2016, with Diaz submitting the former in March at UFC 196 but McGregor winning a majority decision in August at UFC 202.

While Kavanagh suggested 2018 is the next time UFC fans will see McGregor in the Octagon, Okamoto pointed out the organization’s president, Dana White, said McGregor planned on fighting again this year before he lost by technical knockout in his first professional boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Despite the apparent interest in a third match between McGregor and Diaz, Okamoto said there is an interim lightweight title fight between Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson on Oct. 7. The winner could fight McGregor next considering he is the current lightweight champion.

However, a rubber match would bring elevated drama, especially after Diaz criticized McGregor’s style in the boxing match on his Instagram page (NSFW language). “He punched himself out the same way he lost in the UFC there was no learning goin on,” Diaz said.

McGregor must have learned something, though, because he earned a victory in the rematch against Diaz after the latter won the first meeting.
