Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Nearly five years after their inaugural BMF title clash at UFC 244, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are set to throw down a second time in a 10-round, 175-pound light heavyweight boxing bout on Sat., June 1, 2024 at Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. It’s an obvious yet strange booking, one that will test the pay-per-view (PPV) star power of two older MMA fighters who have historically moved the needle.
Since fans are being asked to fork over their hard-earned pay to see this grudge match in the ring, the duo are going on an extensive media tour to promote the fight. Earlier this week, Diaz made headlines for smoking a joint on stage in New York after a fan threw it to him! Between hits, the two debated who was the diva and why the rematch was in a cage rather than ring.
“I’m done with all this s—t,” Diaz began. “I’m cool with all this f—king talking s—t. I got a whole team to represent. I don’t want to do none of this, I never did want to do any of it: Fuck this n—ga and fuck his team, bro! I’m out, I gotta go.
Aljamain Sterling gives some interesting context to the lead up of his UFC 300 bout versus Calvin Kattar:
Zabit TKO/KO’d me in training back in 2017, when I smaller and had NO idea who he was. This fight was scary for me bc of how well he fought Zabit, and I’m thoroughly happy with the performance over a beast of a competitor. https://t.co/kSPwBs2PAC

It’s been an interesting few weeks for ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley.
O’Malley has been letting a lot of controversial things fly out of his matter over the last month, but it appears that the UFC bantamweight champion has truly outdone himself this time.
While speaking on the phone with popular Kick streamer N3ON, O’Malley reveals that he’s in Arizona at the moment, but wanted to make a pit stop in Houston to hit up Johnny Dang, a high-end jewelry shop that specializes in hip-hop style pieces like pendants and grills.
Unfortunately, O’Malley didn’t have the greatest description for its proprietor.
“I need to go get a grill from Johnny Dang. Yeah, that Chinese f*cking n***a,” O’Malley says.
Sean O’Malley delivers a Trifecta of Slurs
Earlier this month, Sean O’Malley was caught on camera making an antisemitic remark while streaming with another well-known personality on Kick, Adin Ross.
He followed that up by calling former flyweight titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo a homophobic slur on X before promptly deleting the post. Unfortunately for O’Malley, screenshots last forever.
After delivering a racial slur, a homophobic slur, and an antisemitic comment in under a month, what do you think will come out of O’Malley’s mouth next?

Jamahal Hill is just six days removed from his devastating knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 300 and he has already scheduled his next fight.
Per a recent social media announcement by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Hill will step back inside of the Octagon to meet fellow light heavyweight contender Khalil Rountree at UFC 303 on June 29 from Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be part of the promotion’s annual International Fight Week.
In case you were vacationing in the Bahamas last week, Hill met Pereira atop the historic UFC 300 card in “Sin City” to try to win his 205-pound belt back. It was the first time Hill was competing since rupturing his Achilles during a basketball game in July of 2023. Hill was coming off a one-sided beatdown over Glover Teixeira at UFC 282 before his freak accident, but decided to relinquish his title due to the injury.
Unfortunately for Hill, his return fight came against Pereira, who was making his first official title defense of the UFC light heavyweight championship. Pereira was a small betting favorite, but it didn’t take long for Hill to find out that “Poatan” hits harder than most. Pereira cracked Hill with a massive punch in the first round that sent him crashing to the canvas and out for the count. It was a rude awakening for “Sweet Dreams” considering he had never been knocked out before.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion is looking to turn the page fairly quickly as he books his return against Rountree this June. Rountree has been on an absolute tear of late, winning his last five trips to the Octagon. This includes a recent third-round TKO stoppage over former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith. It’s a great challenge for both men, especially for Hill who is less than one week removed from an Alex Pereira knockout punch.
UFC 303 is currently expected to be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor. The former UFC double champion will make his first walk to the Octagon since July 2021 when he takes on fellow lightweight contender Michael Chandler in the biggest main event of the year.

Just a week removed from his blistering first round knockout loss to incumbent light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira at UFC 300, former division titleholder, Jamahal Hill is already set for his Octagon return – taking on the streaking striking contender, Khalil Rountree at UFC 303 in June during International Fight Week.
Hill, who slipped to number three in the official light heavyweight rankings off the back of his second loss under the promotion’s banner, headlined UFC 300 in a title offing against Pereira, dropping a one-sided first round knockout loss.
As for Rountree, the Californian striker, who currently holds the number eight rank at 205 pounds, most recently took out former championship challenger, Anthony Smith at UFC Vegas 83 back in December with a dominant eventual third round TKO win, earning himself Performance of the Night honors to boot.
News of Jamahal Hill’s quickfire return against Khalil Rountree on June 29. was officially confirmed on the UFC’s official X account.
Jamahal Hill books UFC 303 return against Khalil Rountree
“Another banger coming to International Fight Week,” UFC posted. “@JamahalH vs. @KhalilRountree is locked in for #UFC303.”
Returning against Pereira for the first time since he ruptured his achilles tendon last summer, Hill became the first fighter produced from Dana White’s Contender Series to land Octagon spoils, with a unanimous decision win over former champion, Glover Teixeira in January of last year in Brazil.
In the midst of an impressive five fight winning rise, Rountree, 34, had turned in devastating and violent knockout victories over Modestas Bukauskas, Karl Roberson, and Dustin Jacoby before his finish of Nerbraska veteran, Smith at the end of last year.

Arman Tsarukyan did just enough to edge out former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira via split decision last weekend at UFC 300, but the rising title contender nearly saw the fight ruled the other way.
Many thought Tsarukyan was biting off more than he could chew as a near 2:1 betting favorite for his main card clash with Oliveira. UFC 300 was the biggest platform Tsarukyan has ever fought on and Oliveira was the best opponent he’s ever faced outside of a debut loss to Islam Makhachev back in 2019. It was Tsarukyan’s chance to prove his doubters wrong and capture the win that would launch him into title contention at 155 pounds.
To much surprise, Tsarukyan was nearly finished by Oliveira in the opening minutes of the fight. Oliveira got a hold of a nasty guillotine choke and was seconds away from putting Tsarukyan to sleep. Fortunately for Tsarukyan, he fought to wiggle his head free and eventually regained control of the fight.
The remaining rounds were pretty entertaining, but Tsarukyan was the more controlling fighter. Outside of another submission attempt by “Do Bronx” to close out the third round Tsarukyan seemed to have the fight in the bag. While Tsarukyan did walk away with the split-decision win, judge Mike Bell ruled the contest in favor of Oliveira by giving him the first and third frames. It wasn’t the worst ruling we’ve seen in recent memory, but Bell still reached out to Tsarukyan after UFC 300 to apologize for his score.
“Yesterday with (Ariel) Helwani, I talked to referee (judge), he did the mistake on the third round because he gave to Oliveira,” Tsarukyan told Daniel Cormier earlier this week. “My coach talked to him. He called my coach and said ‘Sorry, yeah, you were right. I wasn’t give to Oliveira.’ So, he said apologize too for that.”
It’s very rare to see a judge go out of their way to apologize for a scorecard, but thankfully Bell did. This was Tsarukyan’s biggest fight of his career and he wasn’t going to let one silly judge spoil it for him.
“If I lose this fight, I would kill him, yeah,” Tsarukyan said. “He’s going to kill my career, you know? I’ve been training like 10 years non-stop, you know? And like, everyday, like, think about the fight, cut weight, train, like a lot of surgeries, trauma, drama.
“I don’t know, all things together, and, like, some judge, like maybe he was watching his phone. But like, now we’re good. Thank you for that. He said, ‘I understood I was wrong for that.’”
