TJ Dillashaw is currently sitting on the self for two years. The former UFC bantamweight champion was caught abusing performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) following his first-round TKO loss to Henry Cejudo in January.

Dillashaw has been very open about intentionally cheating ahead of the fight in order to make weight for the 125-pound contest, and is handling his suspension as well as anyone could. In the meantime, his peers continue to offer their opinions on the situation in the fallout.

Recently, former UFC flyweight champion, and current ONE Championship competitor Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson chimed in on the topic. Johnson and Dillashaw were at one point rumored for a massive super fight with one another, however, negotiations for the contest fell flat.

When Johnson was asked if he feels like he dodged a bullet, the former 125-pound king denied such a claim, and admits he was actually “thrown off” by the news (via MMA News):

“No, not at all,” Johnson said. “Obviously, it is what it is. He got caught using a banned substance, which I was totally thrown off by it, and it’s a shame. But at the end of the day, it’s mixed martial arts.

“He’ll serve his time, two to three years of USADA. He’ll come back, compete, make money, and life will go on as usual.”

Even if Johnson had fought Dillashaw while he was on a banned substance, this wouldn’t have been the first time the former pound-for-pound king dealt with such an obstacle:

“That’s not the first time. I fought Ali Bagautinov, and he tested positive for EPO,” Johnson said. “So I’ve already been in that boat before. And when I found out about it, I was playing video games. And I said, ‘Ariel Helwani, I’m busy right now. This is not important.’”
