The early odds are out for Nate Diaz vs. Anthony Pettis set to go down at UFC 241 on August 17 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and it looks like “Showtime” is out in front.

According to the odd makers over at BetOnline, Pettis is currently slated as a -150 favorite, meaning fight fans will have to bet $150 to win $100 for a “Showtime” victory. Diaz, on the other hand, is currently a +130 underdog, meaning a $100 bet for a Stockton win will net fight fans $130.

Despite not competing since a majority decision loss to Conor McGregor back in 2016, Diaz will still return to the Octagon this summer as a slight betting underdog, although those odds are subject to change. The 34-year-old was scheduled to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 back in November until an injury to “Diamond” nixed Diaz’s comeback. Fight fans have been eager to see the Stockton native back inside of the cage so hopefully Nate is able to keep this booking in tact and regain any momentum he may have lost over the past three years.

As for Pettis, this is a massive opportunity to use Diaz’s popularity against him to further climb the 170-pound ladder. “Showtime” is coming off a fantastic knockout finish over former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson this past March and could really cement his position in line for title contention with an impressive performance against Diaz.

Of course, the former UFC lightweight champion will have to prove the odds makers right in order to get there.

UFC 241 will be headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between current champion Daniel Cormier and former king Stipe Miocic. The main card will also feature a potential No. 1 contender’s bout between middleweight bruisers Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa.
