After Nate Diaz called out Jorge Masvidal to a fight following his win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 a few weeks ago, “Gamebred” was quick to accept the showdown. Of course, the “goon” wasn’t about to officially sign on the dotted line for such a big fight unless the pay was up to par.

And though UFC president Dana White did have small issues with Jorge Masvidal and his ultimatums in the past, it seems the UFC higher-ups were ready to play ball this time around, as Diaz vs Masvidal was booked to headlined UFC 244 on Nov. 2 in New York.

And yes, Jorge got paid.

During a recent interview on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Masvidal talked about his contract negations with UFC for the upcoming Welterweight collision, saying people who were already bitter will only get a bit saltier when the numbers are revealed.

“I’m getting paid and not played, that’s for sure. Listen, your boy is happy. They took care of me,” said Masvidal.

“There is going to be a lot of bitches coming out. When I say bitches, I’m not talking about my female listeners or fans, no. It’s particular individuals who are bitches, who are attention whores, who are very salty individuals. They’re pretty salty, but when these numbers come out? Man, some heads are going to pop.”

One of the heads to keep an eye on is Colby Covington’s, as he was quick to throw UFC under the bus for coming to him with a subpar offer to fight Kamaru Usman for the 170-pound strap at the same event.

Since the numbers weren’t up to Colby’s standards, UFC moved on and booked the journeymen “BMF” title fight.

So if Masvidal scores a hefty payday for UFC 244 which was in line with what Colby was asking, you know we’re going to hear about it. Nevertheless, Jorge kept the exact details under wraps, so we won’t know until after it’s all said done how much he will bank for the Diaz fight.

As an added bonus, Jorge could very well have The Rock putting the strap around his waist inside Madison Square Garden if he pulls off the victory.
