Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on UFC Fight Pass this Saturday (March 17, 2018) with the UFC Fight Night 127 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which features a heavyweight main event between Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Volkov, who battle for a spot in the 265-pound title chase.

In the UFC Fight Night 127 co-main event, held inside O2 Arena in London, England, top light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa collides with Polish power puncher Jan Blachowicz in a 205-pound rematch of their April 2015 affair.

Round 1: Ware checks an early low kick, eats the next one and comes back with one of his own. They trade leg kicks again. Ware tries to counter the next low kicks. One minute in. Ware lands a body kick, eats another pair of leg kicks. Low kick set up by punches. Counter jab by Ware. Duquesnoy low kick. Two minutes in. Looks like a cut on Ware’s left shin. Ware bangs the body after taking another low kick, then lands a punching combo after eating a head kick. Ware body shot. Two minutes to go.

1-2 from Duquesnoy. He looks for a suplex, denied. BIG overhand right by Duquesnoy. 1-2. Ware avoids a cross near the fence, whiffs on an overhand, tries a head kick. Low kicks from Duquesnoy, short uppercut comes back. One minute to go. Ware digs a right downstairs, then a left hook upstairs. Ware again rips the body and lands a knee up top, then an ankle pick into half guard. Close round. 10-9 Duquesnoy.

Round 2: Duquesnoy goes right back to the leg kick, then a body kick. Ware backs him to the fence, glancing uppercut. They trade exchanges near the fence a minute in. Another leg kick, body shot, leg kick. Elbow falls short. 1-2 lands. Two minutes in. Ware rips the body and goes up top with uppercuts. They trade hard body shots. Ware pressuring. Two minutes to go.

Duquesnoy comes up top with a left hook. Groin shot lands on him. Ware looking for short combos. Ware leg kick and left hand inside. Right cross in response to a leg kick. Low kick exchange. Ware tries an ugly shot, Duquesnoy attempts a throw, Ware winds up on top in guard. One minute to go. Ware looking for ground-and-pound. 10-9 Duquesnoy.

Round 3: Two more nasty leg kicks and now Ware’s wearing it. Another one spins him around. Body shot to leg kick. One minute in. Lead right by Duquesnoy. Ware shoots, denied with an underhook and they jockey for position. Duquesnoy with a knee on the exit. Ware claims a low blow, ref says it’s clean. Ware attempts to open up on the fence as Duquesnoy chews up his leg. Two minutes in. Ware to the body. Leg kick from Duquesnoy, counter left answered by a Ware body kick. Two minutes to go.

170 lbs.: Leon Edwards vs. Peter Sobotta

Round 1: Sobotta opens with a low kick. He avoids a 1-2. Edwards fires a 1-2-3 and the 3 sends Sobotta to the mat. Edwards jumps on him and immediately has to fight off an armbar. He pulls his elbow free a minute in and sets up in guard. Overhook control by Sobotta, keeping Edwards flush with his chest. Now Edwards moves to half guard. Back to full. Ref wants more action. Sobotta looking for a kimura. Two minutes to go.

Edwards gets his arm free, stands and lets Sobotta up. One minute to go. Sharp jab by Sobotta. Again Sobotta pops him with the jab. Body kick catches Sobotta leaning. 10-9 Edwards.

Round 2: Edwards gets a piece of Sobotta’s cup on a body kick. Sobotta takes a bit to recover, returns with a low kick. Body kick. Sobotta still pumping the jab, tries an uppercut. One minute in. Edwards steps into the clinch and hits an outside trip into guard. Sobotta again controlling his posture. Back to the kimura two minutes in. Sobotta uses it to transition to the back, then goes back to the kimura when Edwards slips out the back door. Two minutes to go.

Edwards scrambles free and regains top position. full guard. Ref stands them up with a minute to go. 10-9 Sobotta.

Round 3: Sobotta avoids a head kick and comes back with a straight left, runs into a hook. Sobotta shoots after eating a 1-2, Edwards stuffs it and ties up on the fence. They separate. One minute in. Sneaky uppercut from Edwards on the counter. Straight left connects for him. Sobotta with a well-timed double-leg. Edwards trying to stand on the fence as Sobotta looks for a hook two minutes in. Sobotta still wrapped around his waist. Now Edwards turns to face him and sets up in guard. Two minutes to go.

Edwards in half guard. Nice elbows. Sobotta turns to his knees and Edwards drops punches. Edwards drilling him from back control. He keeps punching until the very last second, when the referee steps in.

Final result: Edwards def. Sobotta by TKO (punches)


185 lbs.: Charles Byrd vs. John Phillips

Round 1: Phillips fires a left hand and Byrd immediately shoots under it, moving right to mount against the fence. Good elbow from Byrd. One minute in. Byrd getting in some good shots. Nice elbows. Some heavy shoulder strikes, too. Phillips lowers his hands to push Byrd’s hips and Byrd cracks him with a bunch of punches. Phillips regains half guard two minutes in. Phillips gets to his knee and Byrd takes the back. Byrd loses it, lands a heavy elbow from half guard. Two minutes to go.

Heavy right hand by Byrd. Phillips tries to turn into him, eats a series of nasty shots. When Phillips gets back to a knee, Byrd locks up the RNC for the finish.

Final result: Byrd def. Phillips by submission (rear naked choke)


170 lbs.: Oliver Enkamp vs. Danny Roberts

Round 1: Enkamp orthodox, Roberts southpaw. Roberts leg kick. Both men trying head kicks early. One minute in. Big straight left by Roberts and Enkamp shoots. Roberts defending on the cage. Hard hook from Enkamp on the exit. Oblique kick. Two minutes in. Enkamp goes to the well one too many times with that side kick to the knee and Roberts vaporizes him with a straight left. Enkamp wakes up after impact, but the ref rightly calls the fight.

Final result: Roberts def. Enkamp by KO (punch)


145 lbs.: Hakeem Dawodu vs. Danny Henry

Round 1: Low kicks from Dawodu. Out of nowhere, Henry drops him with a nasty right hand and clamps down on a vicious guillotine, Dawodu scrambles for his life, but when Henry switches to a high-elbow, the Canadian taps on the verge of unconsciousness.

Final result: Henry def. Dawodu by submission (guillotine choke)


205 lbs.: Magomed Ankalaev vs. Paul Craig

Round 1: Body kick from Craig. Body jab by Ankalaev in return. Craig falls well short with a wheel kick, eats a straight left. One minute in. Ankalaev lands a body kick, looping left, and another body shot before Craig ties up. Craig lands a knee to the junk that pauses the action. Back to the center. Low kick from Ankalaev, who nearly leans into a head kick. Two minutes in. Craig shoots, stuffed, eats knees. Two minutes in. Craig still driving, but Ankalaev reverses with an underhook. Trading knees on the fence. Hard left-right by Ankalaev, but Craig gets him down with two minutes to go.

Craig in side control. Ankalaev scoots to the fence and takes him down in return. Crag with butterfly hooks and an overhook. One minute to go. Craig staying active with his upkicks. Ankalaev stands over him and kicks at his legs, then lands a booming right hand before thumping away in mount. 10-9 Ankalaev.

Round 2: Low kick from Ankalaev. Craig tries to spin. Combination by Ankalaev on the fence. Two big left hands a minute in. Body kick from Craig. He shoots, denied. Ankalaev pressing him against the fence. Nasty left hand on the break two minutes in. Craig flicking out kicks, firing his jab. Craig gets in deep and completes a takedown on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Ankalaev gets to his knees, heaves Craig into the air, and takes side control. Short elbow. One minute to go. Short hammerfists, Craig complains that they were to the back of the head. 10-9 Ankalaev.

Round 3: Ankalaev opens with a straight left and a head kick that has Craig desperately shooting. Ankalaev cracks him with punches and Craig pulls guard. Ankalaev lets him up. Low kick from Ankalaev, blocks a head kick. One minute in. Body kick connects. Lead left upstairs. On the counter this time. Ankalaev backs him to the fence, stuffs a takedown and lands hard punches. Nice lefts as Craig stands. Craig tries a spinning elbow on the break, but stumbles to the ground. Ankalaev fires a knee, then goes back to punching the turtling Craig. Two minutes to go.

Craig rolls to guard, eats an elbow. Ankalaev staying heavy. One minute to go. Big right hand. More nasty punches. At the very last second, though, Craig locks up a triangle, drawing a tap just before the bell rings.

Final result: Craig def. Ankalaev by submission (triangle choke)


155 lbs.: Kajan Johnson vs. Stevie Ray

Round 1: Johnson orthodox, Ray southpaw. Low kick from Ray. Teep by Johnson. One minute in. Ray lands a leg kick after Johnson switches to southpaw. Spinning back kick from Ray lands to the chest. Two minutes in. Leg kick from Johnson, head kick attempt blocked. Ray wheel kick misses. More circling from Johnson as Ray looks to pursue. Two minutes to go.

Glancing low kick from Ray, head kick attempt from Johnson. Johnson leg kick. Ray looks to spin. One minute to go. Another spin attempt from Ray. This is terrible. I know we’re not supposed to do this, but 10-10.

Round 2: Teep from Johnson, who avoids yet another wheel kick. Leg kick from Ray. Now Johnson stings Ray with a straight right, looks to open up on the fence, and takes Ray down, only to wind up in an arm-in guillotine. Ray uses it to sweep up into the front headlock, but Johnson slips out and looks for the back. Hard knees from Johnson, then a takedown into butterfly guard two minutes in. Ray works his way to all fours, eats another knee to the body. Johnson still driving in, absorbs a few Browne elbows and gets forced down. Two minutes to go.

Johnson uses a butterfly hook to sweep his way up, after which they separate. Ray starting to throw some heavy leather, but not landing. Low kick connects. One minute to go. Ray lunges in with a left hand and winds up in top position. Johnson with butterfly hooks. Johnson gets to his feet, looks for a throw, denies one from Ray, dives for a leg at the bell. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 3: Low leg kick from Johnson, then a sharp counter left. Ray still not fully committing, but does land a right against the fence a minute in. 3-2 from Ray. Straight left, counter right hook when Johnson tries to fire back. Straight left dings Johnson and the Canadian hits a takedown. Ray pops up, fails a throw from the whizzer, and looks for a rolling kneebar. Two minutes in. Johnson extracts his legs and secures to guard. Ray with butterfly guard. Two minutes to go.

Johnson looks to dive in with a left, does not connect. Ray just holding on until he gets the standup he wants with ninety seconds to work. Johnson leg kick, Ray straight left. Superman punch connects for Ray. One minute to go. Jab, then a nice double-leg from Ray on the fence. Good left hand. He pins one of Johnson’s hand behind his back and slams home lefts until the bell. 10-9 Ray.

Round 1: Sosnovskiy steps into the clinch, shoved away. Leg kick lands. Godbeer lands a right hand inside. Low kick. Sosnovskiy pops him with a jab and Godbeer ties up, taking Sosnovskiy to the fence. They trade knees inside. One minute in. Sosnovskiy reverses with double underhooks. He drags Godbeer down into half guard, Godbeer gets full guard. Two minutes in. Short right hands from Sosnovskiy, then a can opener attempt. Sosnovskiy postures up, then passes to side control. Two minutes to go.

Godbeer regains half guard, then full. Ref stands them up as soon as they get there and they start trading punches. Right hands from both men. Sosnovskiy shoots, sprawled on and Godbeer’s looking for an anaconda choke. Not there, so he spins to the back. Sosnovskiy rolls for a leg, surrenters half guard. Full guard. Good right hand from Godbeer. 10-9 Sosnovskiy.

Round 2: Body kick from Godbeer. Sosnovskiy grabs double underhooks and takes him to the fence. Knee to the body. Another sacrifice throw into full guard. One minute in. Sosnovskiy rolls for an extremely sloppy leglock, allowing Godbeer to look for the back. Sosnovskiy gets back in top position, though, and moves to top control. He looks for a Josh Barnett-style scarfhold compression, but winds up on the bottom in guard. Sosnovskiy locks up a kimura, but loses his grip. Two minutes to go.

Sosnovskiy holds on until the ref stands them up. Sosnovskiy stings Godbeer, who shoots and gets reversed into mount. Now the back, dropping punches. Godbeer spends too long with his hands on the mat and Sosnovskiy locks up the RNC.
