UFC fighter Mike Perry is over his beef with Jake Paul, but fellow boxer J’Leon Love can still get his.
Mike Perry is cool with Jake Paul, but the latter’s cohort J’Leon Love can still get a piece of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight.
Perry has had run-ins with Paul in sparring and in a nightclub. The controversial fighter recently joined Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour and revealed why he has let go of his frustrations with Paul.
“I feel I honestly didn’t handle it right,” Perry said (h/t MMA Fighting). “Like when Jake posted a video of me saying that we had worked together, even if he was talking trash, or having me talk trash on myself, he was putting me out there on a platform that I didn’t have necessarily.
“I had seen Jake and his boy J’Leon Love in the club later that week,” Perry continued. “We were at Live, and I walked by, and somebody grabbed me, and it was them. And I was talking to them for a second and me and Jay Leon started poking each other in the nose, and then all these people came over and were like, ‘No, no,’ and were separating us. And I was like, ‘It’s all good, we’re cool…’ And Jay Leon tweeted about it, said it was a good conversation, but he beat my ass. Well, let’s run it, bro.”
Perry (14-8, UFC) is coming off consecutive unanimous decision losses to Daniel Rodrigez and Tim Means. Paul (4-0, boxing) took a split decision win over former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley (watch highlights) at a Showtime Boxing pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Aug. 29. Love has not competed since a second-round technical knockout (TKO) loss to David Benavidez in March 2019, which resulted in the first back-to-back losses of his professional boxing career.
