Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington, made a bunch of enemies at American Top Team (ATT) with his incessant trash talk, designed to secure a 170-pound title unification bout against Kamaru Usman.

The move (eventually) paid off, but Covington failed to capitalize on the opportunity and returned to ATT with his tail between his legs. If he hopes to mend fences with teammate Joanna Jedrzejczyk, he’ll have to prepare a somewhat unusual apology.

“He has to bow down to the queen and say sorry,” Jedrzejczyk said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (transcribed by Tom Taylor). “Colby should be more respectful to his teammates and women in general. He should learn how to say ‘Hi, I’m sorry,’ ‘I apologize.’ He’s getting there.”

Jedrzejczyk isn’t the only fighter to turn her back on Covington. Longtime staples of ATT, Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier, have also doorslammed “Chaos” for his lack of loyalty, who refuses to let those beefs drive him to another gym.

There’s still no timeline for Covington’s UFC return and the extent of his injuries after losing to Usman by technical knockout remain unclear. As for Jedrzejczyk, she makes her way back to the cage against Weili Zhang at UFC 248 next month in Las Vegas.
