Glover Teixeira wants to make his fight against Nikita Krylov as quick as possible at UFC Vancouver.

Light heavyweight veteran Glover Teixeira wants to keep the finishes coming, as he rides a streak of two submission wins. The 39-year-old, now paired up against a fighter 12 years his junior in Nikita Krylov, strongly believes this fight won’t be decided by the judges at UFC Vancouver.

In an interview with Combate, Teixeira revealed that he will step into the Octagon looking to finish the bout as soon as possible, be it by knockout or submission, a result he was able to achieve twice already in 2019.

“It surely won’t go to a decision. I’m going after him, I’ll look for the knockout or the submission. I’m the kind of guy who feels the fight and then, when the timing is good, I’ll put my hands on him. If it’s possible, I’ll take him down, of course, then I’ll work my grappling. I’m 100% ready, I feel well and I’ll be there to finish it quickly. I don’t like to leave anything in the hands of the judges.”

In his last two outings, Glover Teixeira tapped out both Karl Roberson, in January and Ion Cutelaba, in April, two fighters who are respectively 11 and 14 years younger than the 39-year-old. The Brazilian’s last loss happened in July 2018, when he dropped an unanimous decision to another young fighter, Corey Anderson.

Teixeira is expected to take on Krylov at UFC Fight Night 158’s co-main event, in Vancouver, Canada, on September 14. The card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between contenders Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje.
