Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) deal with ESPN just keeps on producing, as the numbers for last weekend’s (Sat., March 2, 2019) UFC 235 “Prelims” inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada did better than expected.

In fact, its average of 1.48 million viewers is the best since UFC 207, an event that was headlined by a women’s Bantamweight title fight between division queen Amanda Nunes and former champion, Ronda Rousey, back in 2016.

UFC 235’s “Prelim’s” number were even better than UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor” undercard ratings last October. Jed I. Goodman provided even more insight as to how other “Prelims” on ESPN have done so far.

And the numbers paint a pretty picture for UFC.

The “Prelims” featured a number of intriguing bouts, including the Jeremy Stephens vs Zabit Magomedsharipov Featherweight collision, which served as ESPN headliner.

Also Diego Sanchez mauled Mickey Gall in Welterweight action (see it), while Johnny Walker had another quick day at the office with his flash knockout win over Misha Cirkunov. UFC will be on ESPN+ this coming weekend (Sat., March 9, 2019) as UFC Fight Night 146 goes down from inside INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

The event will feature a hard-hitting Heavyweight showdown between former 265-pound champion Junior dos Santos and Derrick Lewis. For more on that fight card click here.
