UFC 237 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show in Brazil, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
This episode kicks off at Jared Cannonier’s house in Glendale, AZ. He’s watching some fights with his dog. He uses his army duffel bag to take his stuff to every fight he’s ever had. He talks about how he approaches every opponent the same, even if it’s Anderson Silva. While some fighters hate traveling, Cannonier sees it as a perk of the job.
Back to Rose Namajunas’ house, the day before they leave for Brazil. There are inspirational signs all over the place. She thinks that controlling her own thoughts is the key to fighting.
Alexander Volkanovski gets a haircut in Rio. He talks about fighting a legend in Jose Aldo. He’s water loading so he has to stop for regular bathroom breaks. Andrade goes shopping and talks about how well her weight cut has gone thus far. Her wife gives her some tips on fruit that will, uh, help with the elimination process.
Now we get our first look at Anderson Silva. He narrates in English as they show some training footage. His coach believes that he has one more great victory in him. He still loves his job, and when he enters the cage, he’s “completely happy”. His father is surprised he can still drive like this at his age.
And that’s it! UFC 237 goes down in Rio this Saturday night.
