One of the best fight cards of the year will go down later this evening (Sat., July 6, 2019) at UFC 239 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Jon Jones defends his UFC light heavyweight title in the main event against Thiago Santos.
While Santos is a massive underdog to dethrone arguably the greatest fighter in MMA history, the Brazilian does have enough skill and power on his feet to deliver a decisive blow to Jones and shock the combat world to its core. It’s one of the least likely scenarios, but it has happened before.
Leading into Santos’ shot at gold, UFC has compiled the best knockout finishes in the Octagon career of “Marreta.” From his one-punch finish over Jimi Manuwa to his brutal head kick of Steve Bosse, Santos’ highlight reel can be seen above in its entirety.
Adding to the mix is an ultra-exciting, co-main event matchup between current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and former titleholder Holly Holm. Nunes has defeated the likes of Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Miesha Tate, and Valentina Shevchenko throughout her career, so Holm represents the last top-tier name in women’s MMA that has not felt the wrath of “Lioness.”
While Holm is a talented fighter who has a knack for pulling off big upsets, Nunes is on an absolute tear. She has quickly taken her game to a whole new level and will look to press the action tonight at UFC 239.
In advance to Nunes’ title defense the promotion has released some of her best Octagon performances to date, which can be seen below in its entirety.
