Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is still taking it all in after capturing the title by submitting Holly Holm at UFC 196 a few months ago (see it again here).
After appearing on “Good Morning America” and landing on AskMen’s “Crush List,” Tate’s latest spotlight comes via ESPN, as “Cupcake” recently sat down with host Phil Murphy to talk all things mixed martial arts (MMA).
Among the topics discussed were her early days in the fight game and the struggles that came with it, as well as her wrestling background — which includes dating a wrestler she beat down on the mat.
And the fourth round she fought that does not exist on record.
Tate will look to defend her newly-won 135-pound strap for the very first time when she faces top Brazilian contender Amanda Nunes at the monumental UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
