Cris Cyborg, Amanda Nunes

Cris Cyborg would be willing to take on Amanda Nunes in a rematch but only if she leaves the UFC.

Current Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is widely regarded as one of the greatest female mixed martial artists of all time. She is one of the only athletes to hold a belt in the UFC, Invicta FC, Strikeforce, and Bellator.

She is coming off a successful boxing debut against Simone da Silva, a contest she won by unanimous decision last month.

Cris Cyborg is open to rematching Amanda Nunes if she leaves UFC

In a recent interview with former two-division champion Henry Cejudo, Cris Cyborg talked about the possibility of taking on the reigning UFC women’s two-division queen. She made it clear what Nunes would need to do to make the second fight a reality.

“If Amanda Nunes gets out of the UFC, the rematch can happen,” Cyborg said (ht Middle Easy). “If she’s going to continue in UFC, it’s hard to happen. UFC don’t like to pay the fighters. Kayla Harrison wins in [the] same division, but I believe if fans would like to see this fight. We’re in different organizations. If it were to happen from a co-promotion [between Bellator and PFL], why can’t this fight happen?

It can happen. Like Bellator doing RIZIN now. Fighters gonna go fight at the end of the year there in Japan.”

Cyborg wants to challenge Katie Taylor

Two-weight boxing world champion and current undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor had recently called out Cyborg for a clash in the ring. Cyborg intends to level up in the sport and believes with enough hard work, she could compete with Taylor.

“Everything you do, you want to be the best at what you do. I may start saying, ‘No early boxing,’ but if I have an opportunity to fight for the belt… Like Katie Taylor. She called me out yesterday. She fought, she won. Congratulations! She said if the fans want to watch this fight. If you want to watch this fight, I’m gonna be willing to do it.

I feel wonderful having my name there. I just started boxing. I know I did a lot of things in MMA, but for me it’s a dream. I’m gonna work real hard. For sure it’s not going to be easy, but I’m going to do my best.”

Jake Paul

It’s almost par for the course following the culmination of a fight involving polarizing boxing upstart, Jake Paul that calls and shouts of a rigged contest or fixed fight arise. And following the Ohio native’s unanimous decision win over ex-UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva last weekend, many social media users have insisted a phantom punch from Paul resulted in the eighth round knockdown.

Improving to 6-0 as a professional after a lengthy layoff from his December rematch knockout win over former undisputed UFC welterweight titleholder, Tyron Woodley, YouTube star, Jake Paul managed to turn in a unanimous decision win over Brazilian veteran, Silva.

Fans question if Jake Paul actually landed, resulting in a knockdown against Anderson Silva

Sharing a tight and close fight over the course of the eight round professional affair, Silva managed to take some rounds from Paul, however, was dropped with a right hand in the pocket in the final round, sealing the latter his sixth professional victory.

However, in footage released and shared on social media of Jake Paul’s knockdown against Silva, the reverse angle has led fans and commenters to speculate the legitimacy of the strike – speculating if the punch even landed.

In the ringside footage released by Showtime – the event’s broadcasters, however, footage clearly shows Paul land a right-hand counter as Silva engages, sending the Curitiba veteran to the canvas.

As mentioned earlier, during Paul’s knockout sequence in his December professional rematch with Woodley, speculation was posed if Paul had given Woodley some sort of notion or nod with his glove that he was about to land a massive overhand shot – almost as if the fight had been choreographed.

Off the back of his career-highlight win over Silva, Paul called for another grudge match against former UFC welterweight contender, Nate Diaz – who briefly attended the event before his team engaged in a backstage scuffle with Paul’s entourage.

Logan Paul welcomes Andrew Tate fight: ‘Maybe I would take the opportunity to turn his f*cking face inside out’

Social media influencer and podcast host, Logan Paul, the elder sibling of undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul – has welcomed the opportunity to share the squared circle with former Kickboxing world champion and outspoken social commenter, Andrew Tate – threatening to turn the American-born influencer’s “face inside out”.

Paul, who boxed professionally just once in the form of a rematch with British rapper and musician, KSI in a re-run of a prior amateur matchup between the two, notably faced former multiple time and weight boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition matchup last year.

For his younger brother, Jake Paul, the Ohio native improved to 6-0 professionally over the course of the weekend in Arizona – handing former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva a unanimous decision loss at the Diamond Desert Arena.

Tate on the other hand, had primarily competed as a professional Kickboxer during his time in combat sports, winning world championships and titles, as well as defeating former UFC feature, Luke Barnatt on the amateur circuit in the United Kingdom.

Logan Paul flirts with a potential clash against Andrew Tate

Welcoming a potential grudge match against Tate in the future, Logan Paul claimed that while he would hate to offer the outspoken social commenter a platform as his views don’t align with his own, he took solace in the thought of potentially scoring a devastating win over the former combat sports feature.

“He’s (Andrew Tate) being rude and disrespectful to females because he thinks they should have their body count strapped to their forehead,” Logan Paul said during a podcast appearance with UFC bantamweight contender, Sean O’Malley. “That’s ridiculous, like, ‘Okay’, then men should have the size of their c*ck strapped to their forehead.”

“…I’m not sure if I wanted to fight him, because I didn’t want to platform him,” Logan Paul explained. “I’m not sure if I want to support someone who fundamentally I disagree with, I said what I said, I didn’t feel like platforming him. But then this motherf*cker starts talking a lot of sh*t… maybe I would take the opportunity to platform him, just for one night. And turn his f*cking face inside out. Have him wheeled home on the gurney, with his brother holding his hand in the ambulance. The thought of that is kinda compelling.”

Paul has also recently turned his hand to professional wrestling with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), and has already competed at the organization’s flagship event, WrestleMania in the past year.

Luke Rockhold is confident he would defeat Anderson Silva in a boxing match: “Bet the house”

Luke Rockhold

As former MMA greats continue to make the switch to boxing, Luke Rockhold appears to be eying up a potential fight with Anderson Silva.

Luke Rockhold made the decision to hang up his MMA gloves earlier this year, after dropping a decision loss to Paulo Costa in one of the most violent fights of the year. This calls an end to a storied career for Rockhold, who at this peak, reached the very pinnacle of sporting achievement in MMA, claiming a UFC title. He also picked up numerous notable victories over elite-level opposition, such as Chris Weidman, Michael Bisping, and Lyoto Machida.

Rockhold is undeniably one of the UFC’s middleweight greats, but one man who has eclipsed him, in terms of achievements in the UFC’s 185lb division, is Anderson Silva. ‘The Spider‘ made his promotional debut in 2006, when he knocked out fan favorite Chris Leben in the first round. From that point on, Silva would go on one of the most sensational win streaks the promotion has ever seen, claiming the middleweight title, and numerous victories, both at 185lbs and 205lbs.

However, Silva is now past his prime, and has left the UFC to pursue a late-career switch to Boxing. After picking up back-to-back wins over Tito Ortiz and Julio César Chávez Jr., Silva would face off against the hugely popular and controversial Jake Paul. Much to the dismay of MMA fans across the globe, Paul was able to defeat Silva via unanimous decision. He would even drop ‘The Spider’ in the final round.

With Silva stating that he intends to carry on boxing after this loss, Luke Rockhold may well be a potential opponent, with the former champ taking to Twitter to post the following:

“I beat Silva in boxing. Bet the house.”

Rockhold was also asked how a fight with Jake Paul with go, stating:

“Easy money but he don’t fight real men.”

Nate Diaz Brawl Jake Paul Anderson Silva fight

At one of the weekend’s most exciting combat sports events, all chaos broke loose after Nate Diaz and his entourage were involved in a wild brawl backstage.

The venue was set for Jake Paul and Anderson Silva to throw down, but fans would get an additional treat as footage would be released depicting a massive brawl that needed security and police to stop the violence.

The reasoning as to why the brawl occurred is still not public knowledge. Footage shows Nate Diaz and his crew backstage, as two posses of people faced off, arguing and screaming.

Footage of the Nate Diaz brawl backstage at the Paul vs. Silva fight

In the video, Nate Diaz can be seen getting handed what looks to be an open bottle of soda, and a second later you can see him launch it into the air, splattering whatever liquid contents it contained all over the other crew of people. This obviously set things in motion, and seconds later both crews can be seen on footage engaging in a wild brawl.

After the chaos backstage, the action moved out into the crowd, where Nate Diaz and his crew stood watching the Paul vs Silva fight. However, their presence caused instability in the crowd, and that combined with the brawl earlier was enough to get them removed from the arena entirely.

Later, Nate Diaz would take to Twitter, further sneak dissing Jake Paul and his crew. “The only real fighters here,” he proclaimed, taking a picture of his loyal entourage.

It is worth noting, the former UFC superstar is now a free agent. Any move he wishes to make in the combat sports stratosphere is his to be made. Like the scarface movie with the blimp in the sky saying: “The world is yours”, Nate Diaz literally has the MMA world in the palms of his hands. Until he does make a move, the MMA world will be eagerly waiting.

What do you want to see Nate Diaz do next? Should he fight Jake Paul or sign back with the UFC?
