Tyson Fury warned Francis Ngannou would kill him in MMA fight who could stop him

Undisputed WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has been warned that if he pursues a potential mixed martial arts clash with former UFC heavyweight kingpin, Francis Ngannou – the Cameroonian could very well likely “kill him”, according to former world champion boxer, David Haye.

Fury, the undisputed and incumbent WBC heavyweight champion, is slated to headline a professional boxing event next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – taking on recent PFL (Professional Fighters League) acquisition, Ngannou, in the latter’s professional boxing debut.

Sidelined since December of last year, Fury managed to successfully defend the WBC crown in an eventual knockout win over three-time foe, Derek Chisora, defeating the challenger with a standing TKO victory.

As for Ngannou, the veteran Batié native, who is expected to make his MMA return in the opening quarter of next year, has yet to fight in combat sports since unifying the heavyweight titles against former interim champion, Ciryl Gane back in January of last year at UFC 270.

And ahead of their boxing clash, rumors of a potential MMA clash in the future have been rumored, however, according to the above-mentioned, Haye, Morecambe native, Fury should avoid any sort of combat sports fight with Ngannou – that is not limited to just boxing.

David Haye touts the ability of Francis Ngannou as an MMA fighter

“Who could stop him?” David Haye said of Francis Ngannou during an interview with Seconds Out. “If he (Ngannou) puts a rear-naked choke hold on (Tyson) Fury, who can stop him? He could probably kill him.”

“Who could physically get him off?” Haye said of Francis Ngannou. “You’d have to shoot him if he chooses to do that, that’s how powerful he is.”

Leaking a rumored massive payday for Ngannou ahead of their October showdown, Fury poked fun at critics who questioned the former’s decision to depart the UFC earlier this year of his own volition – claiming he is set to strike a lucrative earning for his part in the Middle Eastern boxing clash

Dillon Danis could be in hot water after intentionally evading process servers following Nina Agdal’s lawsuit

DanisDillon Danis may be in some serious trouble after openly attempting to evade process servers at both his home and his gym. Dillon Danis may be in some serious trouble after openly attempting to evade process servers at both his home and his gym.

Earlier this month, Logan Paul’s fiancee, Nina Agdal, filed a lawsuit against Danis after the BJJ specialist had targeted her more than 250 times in an online attack that routinely poked fun at her past relationships and aimed to slut-shame her relentlessly. However, Danis appeared to take things a bit too far when he allegedly posted a sexually explicit image of Agdal that was taken behind closed doors and not meant for public distribution.

That in and of itself is both a state and federal crime, meaning Danis could be facing some serious legal ramifications on top of a lawsuit that could cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Once news broke that Agdal had filed the suit, Danis never once wavered when it came to posting on social media. The undefeated Bellator fighter routinely posted images of process servers attempting to deliver legal documents to him and gloated about his ability to evade them, even going so far as to suggest that he had fled to North Korea to train ahead of his October 14 clash with Agdal’s partner, Logan Paul.

Danis’ Public Evasion Could Land Him in Some Extra Hot Water

Well, it now appears that has gotten Danis in even more trouble as recent court filings make note of Danis’ very public attempts at evasion.

“Defendant purposefully evaded service. In an X post at 3:44 p.m. EST on September 7, 2023, Defendant posted a picture of Sage investigators outside his gym which said, “Not gonna serve me today losers,” followed by a laughing emoji (emphasis added).

“Later on September 7, 2023, Defendant uploaded several additional posts to his X account about his attempts to evade service. In one post at 4:37 p.m. EST, which has since been deleted, Defendant wrote: “Being on the run sucks I just want to go to the gas station and get some zyns” followed by a laughing emoji (emphasis added).

“Given Defendant’s evasion of service on September 7, 2023, Sage left copies of the Summons, Verified Complaint, unexecuted Order to Show Cause, Memorandum of Law, and supporting Declarations outside of the front door of Defendant’s apartment (at approximately 5:23 p.m. EST) and with the receptionist at his gym (at approximately 5:27 p.m. EST).”

Currently, Dillon Danis’ scheduled scrap with Logan Paul for Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester is still on, but it remains to be seen if any of these legal issues will force him out of the bout, or for Misfits to pull the plug. In either event, the promotion has secured a backup for the bout. BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry is standing by and ready to step in and square off with Paul should Danis exit the bout one way or another.

KSI comments on run in with Conor McGregor at Anthony Joshua fight: ‘It was really weird’

Olajide Olayinka Williams, better known by fight fans as KSI, revealed some details regarding his run-in with UFC megastar Conor McGregor last month.

In August, both McGregor and KSI were inside London’s iconic O2 Arena to watch former unified heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua square off with Finnish standout Robert Helenius. During one point in the evening, McGregor found himself inside the ring and took the opportunity to cut a promo on KSI who was sitting ringside for the festivities.

“I think we all know what he said,” KSI told fans in a YouTube video. “Something about me not knowing how to box, I think he was off his face and then he was forcing his s*ssy drink down AJ’s throat. Yeah, it was really weird.”

KSI Weighs His Future Options

On October 14, the social media star will return to the squared circle for a main event showdown with undefeated British standout Tommy Fury. The pair are scheduled to headline Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester.

“Conor’s a weird guy, man,” KSI continued. “I think he was trying to set up a fight, I think he wants to fight me, especially after what I do to Tommy [Fury]. I can see him getting excited and being like ‘Yeah, I want a piece of that’ and you know what? Fair. We’ll see, we’ll see if I’m down, we’ll see if I want to retire, see if I want to fight Jake [Paul] or Conor. I don’t know but I’ve got options, let me focus on Tommy first” (h/t Mirror).

KSI has teased a potential retirement from the sport once he steps inside the ring with Tommy Fury, but big-money matchups against the likes of Jake Paul could keep him in the game for a bit longer. If given the opportunity, we have no doubt that KSI would put off retirement to go toe-to-toe with Conor McGregor, but we also can’t see the Irishman entertaining a fight with a YouTuber who’s had one professional fight. That being a split-decision win over Logan Paul in 2019.

How Many Rounds Are There In Boxing

One common question that new fight fans getting into boxing have is, how many rounds are there in boxing? There are so many types of matches that it can be difficult to grasp how many rounds there are in boxing.

Let’s dive in and give you the full answer of how many rounds are there in boxing and other important facts. Read below as we detail each type of boxing match and review the number of rounds in each.

So, How Many Rounds Are There in Boxing?

The question of how many rounds are there in boxing is a hard question to answer. There are different time limits, mainly due to the various types of boxing matches.

Each type of boxing match has different rounds, from pro, amateur, male, and female bouts. Rounds could be anywhere from 3 to 12 rounds and between 1 to 3 minutes, depending on those factors.

How Many Rounds Are There in Boxing Matches Between Amateurs?

Let’s start with amateur boxing and review how many rounds are in boxing matches under amateur rule sets. Amateur bouts featuring boxers with no fighting experience are set at three-round contests that are a minute each.

No matter if the new amateur fights are between men, women, or children, they all start out fighting in one-minute rounds.

As the amateur boxers gain experience, they will gradually go up from one to two-minute rounds. More experienced men’s amateur fighters will fight three-minute rounds like the pros.

Women and children are usually capped off at fighting rounds that are two minutes each. However,  all amateur bouts are generally kept at three-round contests.

How Many Rounds Are There In Boxing For Professional Male Boxers?

How many rounds are there in boxing between pro male boxers is a frequently asked question. Like at the amateur level, the number of rounds a professional male boxer competes in depends on two factors: Skill level and if a fight is a title fight.

Generally, the number of rounds between pro male boxers in boxing matches depends on their skill and rank.

  • Low-Level Male Pros: 4 Rounds
  • Mid-Level Male Pros: 6 Rounds
  • Contenders: 8-10 Rounds
  • Champions: 12 Rounds

Pro male boxers will start at 4 rounds and then attempt to work up to 12-round title bouts. Only the elite boxers fight twelve rounds, while the majority of boxers fight 8-to 10 rounds.

How Many Rounds Are There in Boxing For Professional Female Boxers?

How many rounds there are in boxing for pro female boxers is a different format than male boxers. They will fight in bouts ranging from 4-10 round-limits, but no 12-round bouts. Most pro female boxers also only fight in rounds consisting of two minutes.

The format of pro female boxing matches looks similar to this:

  • Low-Level Female Pros: 4 Rounds
  • Mid-Level Female Pros: 6 Rounds
  • Contenders: 8 Rounds
  • Champions: 10 Rounds

Many top female pro boxers like Clarissa Shields are calling for abolishing two-minute rounds for women. Champions like here demand that they fight three-minute rounds like the men and compete in 12-round title bouts.

Some federations and commissions are starting to allow some females to fight 3-minute rounds, but not all of them. It’s still an ongoing process.

How Many Rounds Are There In Boxing: The History

In the early days of boxing, the question of how many rounds there are in boxing depended on the fighters. Before round limits were introduced, boxers often fought for hours until one of the fighters quit or couldn’t continue.

The longest boxing bout in history took place in 1893 between Andy Bowen and Jack Burke. These two warriors fought for 110 rounds, which took an estimated 7 hours and nineteen minutes.

Boxing commissions realized there needed to be round limits to keep the boxers from dying. During the late 1910s and 1920s, title fights were put at fifteen rounds.

This would be the norm until Korean fighter Duk Koo Kim died in the last fifteen-round title fight 1982. Since then, all title fights in boxing are 12-round bouts.

Various other levels of non-title pro boxing bouts were also put at different round limits. The number of rounds that non-champion fighters compete at depends on the promoters and state commissions.

How Many Rounds Are There In Boxing vs. MMA

There’s a vast difference between how many rounds are there in boxing vs. MMA. Not only do these sports have different rule sets for rounds, but also their time limits.

A non-title pro-MMA bout consists of three rounds that are five minutes each. Title bouts and main events in MMA are five rounds each.

Pro-female MMA fighters also compete in the same format as men, with no differences between rules and time.

Fighters transitioning between each combat sport generally have difficulty adapting to the new pace.

How Many Rounds Are There In Boxing vs. Muay Thai/Kickboxing?

How many rounds are there in boxing vs. Muay Thai/kickboxing is also vastly different. Muay Thai and kickboxing, like boxing, take place in rings, but the rounds are completely different.

In Muay Thai, all matches consist of five rounds that are three minutes a piece. This also includes title bouts.

The rounds of a pro-non-title kickboxing bout are generally three rounds at three minutes apiece. Title bouts in pro kickboxing are five rounds each.

Muay Thai also has a 2-minute rest between rounds, while there’s only a 1-minute rest in kickboxing, like in boxing.

Why Have the Rounds of Boxing Matches Been Altered?

What makes explaining how many rounds are there in boxing so long-winded is due to constant alterations in history. The main reason for round limits was due to boxer safety.

In the early days of boxing, there were fewer rules and safety precautions. This made death a normal thing in the sport of boxing.

Commissions implemented round limits to protect the fighters and give the sport more mainstream appeal. These precautions and round limits led to boxing becoming one of the most-watched sports in the world.

Will Rounds Formats Every Change In Boxing?

As of now, it is unlikely that we will ever see any major rule changes to the format of rounds in boxing. It has taken promoters and commissions years to agree on the current rules in place.

Debates are constantly had about adding new weight classes, but big changes to round formats are rare. We will likely see pro-female boxing go by the same round format as men before round formats are changed.
