Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Betting Preview

Reverting to his previous vein of competing against ex-UFC stars, outspoken professional boxer, Jake Paul has closed as a significant betting favorite in each of his eventual successful outings against the Octagon products. And it appears to be business as usual ahead of his return this weekend in Dallas, Texas – taking on veteran Stockton favorite, Nate Diaz.

Paul, who currently boasts a 6-1 professional boxing record, will make his return to the ring this weekend in ‘The Lone Star State’ – taking on professional newcomer and former UFC lightweight title challenger, Diaz in a professional boxing match at the American Airlines Center.

Sidelined since February of this year, Jake Paul, the younger brother of fellow influencer and podcast host, Logan Paul, saw his six-fight perfect professional run come to a halt over the course of eight rounds in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia – dropping a close, split decision loss to reality television star, Tommy Fury – the half-brother of current WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

As for Diaz, the former welterweight contender has been sidelined from combat sports since he took main event honors at UFC 279 back in September of last year in an impromptu headliner against former interim lightweight gold holder, Tony Ferguson.

Snapping a two-fight losing skid in his final contracted Octagon walk, Diaz, the younger brother of former WEC and Strikeforce middleweight titleholder, Nick Diaz, submitted Ferguson with a highlight-reel fourth round guillotine choke win.

And at the time of publication, Jake Paul is currently closing as a -350 betting favorite with Betway to defeat the +320 betting underdog, Diaz – with punters seemingly hammering the line on the much more experience puncher, Paul ahead of this weekend’s pay-per-view headliner.

Prior to his loss against actual professional boxer, Fury at the beginning of this year in the MIddle East, Jake Paul had most recently turned in a unanimous decision win over recent UFC Hall of Fame inductee and former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.

Headlining an event in Glendale, Arizona – Paul managed to drop the former UFC pound-for-pound number one in the final round of their eight round clash, en route to a unanimous decision win over the Curitiba native.

In other notable career wins in the fleeting career inside the ring for Paul, the Ohio native holds a decision and subsequent rematch KO win over former UFC welterweight titleholder, Tyron Woodley, as well as a blistering two minute knockout of Ben Askren

Finished outright just once with strikes during his professional mixed martial arts career, beyond a controversial doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal back in 2019, Diaz’s sole other TKO loss came in the form of a 2013 defeat to Josh Thompson, who found the target with a slamming high-kick and follow-up strikes.

However, according to special lines over at Betway, Paul is more likely to land a KO, TKO, or disqualification win over Gracie Jiu-Jitsu product, Diaz this weekend in Texas – with current lines available as high as -150 in favor of the former when they share the squared circle.

A volume striker in every meaning of the word, Diaz, on the other hand, is available as a whopping +650 betting underdog to land a victory over Jake Paul by way of KO, TKO or disqualification come the early hours of Sunday morning in Dallas.

Conor McGregor vows to win BMF title in UFC return offers Nate Diaz trilogy fight

Ex-duel-weight champion, Conor McGregor has promised to win symbolic BMF championship spoils in his return to the UFC – before then defending the symbolic strap against inaugural title chaser, Nate Diaz in a potential future rubber-match trilogy with the latter.

McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from the Octagon since he headlined UFC 264 back in July 2021, suffering a fractured left tibia and fibula en route to a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier.

As for Diaz, the Stockton fan-favorite departed the Octagon back in November of last year following the completion of his contractual obligations with the organization, off the back of a stunning fourth round guillotine choke win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September of that year.

However, recently vetoing a long-planned welterweight division return against Michael Chandler – whom he has served as an opposing coach against on The Ultimate Fighter 31 earlier this year, McGregor has quickly switched his attention to a symbolic BMF title grudge match with newly-minted champion, Justin Gaethje.

Conor McGregor again offers Nate Diaz trilogy rubber match

And laying out a plan to earn the symbolic strap in his immediate return to the Octagon, former two-division gold holder, McGregor has offered to put a projected BMF title on the long in a future decider with Diaz – who has stressed his desire to land a return to the UFC.

“Regardless of that nonsense match [Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz], me and Nate will be completing the trilogy,” Conor McGregor tweeted. “I am going to go grab that BMF belf right quick for us to compete for it in the trilogy.”

Twice fighting Diaz during his tenure with the UFC, McGregor suffered his first promotional loss against the Californian back in 2016 courtesy of a second round rear-naked choke loss – before avenging the defeat in August of that year in a close, majority decision victory.

As for Diaz, the veteran makes his professional boxing debut this weekend atop a pay-per-view card in Dallas, Texas – taking on outspoken puncher, Jake Paul

Nate Diaz calls Jake Paul a "f*cking f*ggot" in rant at press conference offers to fight media member boxing UFC

Booked to make his return to combat sports this weekend in a professional boxing debut with outspoken boxer, Jake Paul, former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz has found himself in hot water, after branding the content creator a “f*ggot” during a tense exchange with an aggravating media member.

Diaz, who has been sidelined from combat sports since he headlined UFC 279 back in September of last year, most recently landed a fourth round guillotine choke submission win over former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson in the pair’s impromptu welterweight main event.

Electing against promoting much of his professional boxing debut against the antagonizing Paul this weekend in Dallas, Texas, former UFC star, Diaz turned up the heat on the former, during a tense exchange with a media member – ‘Derek from Betr Media’.

Offering an apology to Diaz after requesting to fight his elder brother, Nick Diaz earlier this summer at a press conference – the member then claimed he was excited to see Paul knock out Nate Diaz this weekend.

Nate Diaz hits out at Jake Paul and media in expletive-filled tirade

Standing from his seat, Stockton veteran, Diaz hit out at the media member, as well as Paul, calling the Ohio puncher a “f*ggot” in the process.

“Get this little motherf*cker, bro,” Nate Diaz said. “Bring this little b*tch up here, or get him the f*ck out of here. The lack of respect from all the p*ssies in this f*cking f*ggot’s camp [pointing at Jake Paul], motherf*cker. That’s the f*cking problem with this sh*t. This guy [Paul] influences the f*cking island gay boys because of motherf*ckers like you, b*tch. You’re the f*cking bad guy. And this little f*ck right here needs his ass whipped. And f*ck your dad, too. How about that?”

Following a tense face-off between Diaz and Paul, the former took aim at the latter’s manager and representative, Nikisa Bidarian – with both security teams for the fighters engaging in a scuffle following a war-of-words.

As for Fury, the Morecambe native most recently retained his undisputed WBC heavyweight championship back in December in London, dispatching three-time foe and title chaser, Derek Chisora with a tenth round TKO win in the capital.

And booked to fight Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in October over the course of 10 sanctioned rounds in the Middle East, Ngannou is now set to have the help of revered knockout ace, Tyson in his corner and in his camp ahead of his squared circle bow.

“He (Francis Ngannou) isn’t a combat novice; he is a world champion,” Mike Tyson told Riyadh Season PR in an official press release confirming his participation. “He knows how to compete when the bell rings, but the key will be combining his energy and combat skills into his punches and using his agility to move swiftly around the ring, then delivering the knockout blow. We’re here to win.”

“Bringing Mike Tyson into my camp is one of the best decisions I can make to prepare for Tyson Fury in the ring at this year’s Riyadh Season,” Francis Ngannou explained. “Mike Tyson is an idol of mine in the sport. His experience and boxing IQ will be important to honing my technique under his guidance to win this superfight.”

“I’ve been wanting this fight for years and now that it’s here, I’m focused on fighting the greatest fight of my career and shocking the world on the most epic stage for the fans in Riyadh,” Francis Ngannou said. “October 28th, the world will know who’s the Baddest Man on The Planet.”

Nate Diaz welcomes UFC return following Jake Paul boxing match I'll probably be back

Ahead of his incoming professional boxing debut this weekend in Dallas, Texas, former UFC championship challenger, Nate Diaz appears set to make just a brief outing in the sport, confirming plans again for an expected return to the Octagon.

Diaz, who spent the more recent tenure of his time with the Dana White-led promotion at the welterweight limit, once competed for undisputed lightweight championship spoils, as well as winning The Ultimate Fighter 5.

The Stockton veteran has been sidelined from combat sports since he headlined UFC 279 back in September of last year, most recently landed fourth round guillotine choke win over former interim lightweight titleholder, Tony Ferguson.

And making his professional boxing debut this weekend at the American Airlines Center in ‘The Lone Star State’, Diaz will take on the 6-1 professional puncher, Jake Paul, in his first venture inside the squared circle.

Nate Diaz eyes return to UFC following boxing match with Jake Paul

According to Diaz, however, it seems he will only make a cameo in the sport this weekend, with plans in place for him to make a return to the UFC in the immediate future.

“Yeah, probably,” Nate Diaz told MMA Fighting during a recent interview when asked if he would likely make an MMA return after his fight with Jake Paul. “I’m not thinking past this [fight on Saturday] right now. I said I’ll get that done and then know what I’m gonna do. I have ideas I’m committed to.”

“It’ll probably either be back in the UFC, or do something like this [points to a boxing ring] in an MMA style,” Nate Diaz continued.

Confirming his intentions to settle his rivalry with former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor in the form of a third clash and rubber-match, Diaz was also recently offered a route back to the promotion by former interim lightweight titleholder and UFC 291 headliner, Dustin Poirier – who expressed his willingness to fight the Californian.
