Dustin Poirier offers to fight Nate Diaz after UFC 291 if he comes back I'll beat him up

Seemingly on a continued collision course with veteran welterweight, Nate Diaz, former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier has offered to fight the Stockton native in the future – particularly if he makes good on a planned return to the UFC.

Poirier, who returns to the Octagon this weekend atop a UFC 291 pay-per-view card in Salt Lake City, Utah – takes on former opponent and fellow former interim titleholder, Justin Gaethje in a rematch, with symbolic BMF championship spoils on the line.

As for Diaz, the Californian veteran is slated to make his return to combat sports next month, taking on the outspoken, Jake Paul in a professional boxing debut in Dallas, Texas.

Sidelined from competition since September of last year, Diaz most recently headlined UFC 279, submitting former interim lightweight gold holder, Tony Ferguson with a fourth round guillotine choke, before departing the organization following the completion of his contractual obligations.

Expected to fight Lafayette native, Poirier back in 2018 in the co-headliner of UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden, both Diaz or Poirier failed to officially pen terms for a battle in New York City at the lightweight limit, with both placing the blame on each other’s doorstep in the time since.

However, prior to Diaz’s eventual clash with Ferguson last year, Dustin Poirier had called for a welterweight fight with the Stockton native – ultimately to no avail, in a bid to settle their long-standing rivalry.

Dustin Poirier remains open to a fight with Nate Diaz in the future

Ahead of UFC 291 this weekend, Poirier insists that should Diaz make good on his planned return to the Octagon, he would welcome the opportunity to fight him at long last.

“Dude, like I always say, I don’t look too far ahead and book myself in fights that aren’t even realistic or a possibility, until other things happen,” Dustin Poirier told assembled media ahead of UFC 291. “If he (Nate Diaz) comes back, I’ll beat him up.”

Will Nate Diaz make good on a planned return to the UFC?

Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue Betting Preview

Undefeated Japanese star, Naoya Inoue will test bantamweight waters for the first time this week in a return to home soil, as he competes for unified and undisputed WBC and WBO championship spoils, against his fellow unbeaten, Stephen Fulton in the country’s capital of Tokyo.

Slated to make a return to Tokyo this week in search of super bantamweight spoils, surging knockout star, Inoue will look to capture divisional gold in front of a partisan crowd – taking on Pennsylvania slickster, Fulton in a unified title showcase.

Boasting a stunning 24-0 professional record, Inoue, who most recently turned in his whopping twenty first professional knockout win, defeated Liverpool native Paul Butler in the penultimate round at the same venue as his title clash with Fulton on Tuesday.

First winning WBC light-flyweight gold back in 2014, Inoue defeated Adrian Hernandez in just his eighth professional fight.

And according to current lines over at Betway, Inoue is a resounding -400 betting favorite to add super-bantamweight gold to his glimmering trophy cabinet next week, over the +320 betting underdog, Fulton.

Winning regular bantamweight spoils in 2018 with a knockout win over Jamie McDonnell in the very first round, Inoue would then capture super bantamweight gold in November, landing a unanimous decision win over the veteran, Nonito Donaire.

Rematching Philippine veteran, Donaire in the summer of last year at the Saitama Super Arena in his native Japan, Inoue would turn in his second career win over the star, stopping him inside just two rounds to retain the WBA and IBF bantamweight title, and clinching the WBC crown.

A professional for the last nine years, the undefeated, 21-0 Fulton first won super bantamweight gold under the governing body of IBO, with a 2019 unanimous decision win over Paulus Ambunda in Virginia.

Winning WBO super bantamweight spoils in 2021, Fulton would defeat Angelo Leo in a unanimous judging win, before turning in a pair of decision wins over both Brandon Figueroa, and Daniel Roman – the most recently back in June of last year in Minnesota.

A massive knockout threat, Inoue has a better chance than Fulton to land a stoppage victory on Tuesday in their Tokyo title fight, with the 30-year-old currently listed as a -117 betting favorite to win via KO, TKO, or by way of disqualification in their super bantamweight championship tangle over on Betway.

Furthermore, between rounds six to nine, Inoue can be backed currently as a heavy -1,200 betting favorite to stop the bout in those specified frames, the most likely according to odds at the time of publication.

Closing as a notable favorite to land super bantamweight spoils against Fulton this week, Inoue ultimately closed as a gargantuan betting favorite as high as -3,000 for his aforenoted knockout win over Bulter last year in Tokyo to boot.

A decorated world champion across a slew of weight classes, Inoue, who racked up a jaw-dropping seven separate successful title defenses at 115lbs, has been picked by a slew of his fellow world champions and peers to turn in a memorable title winning-performance against the incumbent Fulton on home soil in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’.

And predicting a stunning knockout win over the Cameroonian – which would see Fury become the first to finish Ngannou with strikes across combat sports, has received a stern warning from the latter ahead of their tangle inside the squared circle.

“He (Tyson Fury) has said a lot of things,” Francis Ngannou told TMZ during a recent interview. “He better just get ready for October 28. Because if he’s not taking this seriously, I think he might get surprised and get some regret. I’m coming for it all. This is my moment, this is my life, and this is all I’ve been waiting [for].”

“The boxing dream I’ve been having since I was a kid, long time before I discovered MMA, this is it – fighting the boxing champion,” Francis Ngannou continued. “This is the dream and I’m coming for everything.” (Transcribed by MMA News)

In his most recent professional outing, Fury retained his undisputed WBC heavyweight title with a tenth round TKO win over three-time foe, Derek Chisora back in December of last year.

Ahead of his boxing debut against WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury in October, former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou has received the backing of former two-weight gold holder, Conor McGregor – who admitted he is “happy” for the Cameroonian veteran.

Slated to make a professional boxing debut later this year, Ngannou, a recent acquisition of the PFL (Professional Fighters League) following his departure from the UFC back in January of this year, is booked to fight Morecambe native, Fury over the course of 10 rounds on October 28. in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Yet to compete since he headlined UFC 270 back in January of last year in Anaheim, California, Francis Ngannou managed to successfully unify the heavyweight crowns against then-interim gold holder, Ciryl Gane, defeating the Frenchman with a unanimous decision win.

And according to the aforenoted, McGregor – who initially backed the UFC in their negotiation fallout with the Batié native, claimed he was not “happy” for the former heavyweight champion after striking a reportedly lucrative boxing outing with champion, Fury.

“I’m interested, let’s see how it goes,” Conor McGregor said of a Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury fight during an interview with Adam Glyn. “I’ve not heard much about it but I’m happy for Ngannou, fair play to him. What weight is Tyson? Is he in shape? Anything can happen in there, so I wish them both well and I’m excited to see it.”

Furthermore, off the back of the booking of a bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight championship challenger, Chael Sonnen criticized the boxing world champion for taking on the veteran, labelling him a “scumbag” and a “bully”.a

“What kind of a scumbag is (Tyson) Fury, though, man?” Sonnen explained. “I really gotta tell you, Fury broke my heart. I liked this guy, and I liked the entertainment. I like so many things about him. You take a guy like Fury, who God made huge, gave great coaches, great training partners, great experiences, too. He has weapons and tools that other men can’t deal with if they’re not armed.”

“And he’s going to choose to use those to beat up a guy who’s at least 37 with no experience and is on one leg. That’s a bully, and it’s a scumbag. I would never do that to somebody. Jesse James made a lot of money, and there’s hitmen that made a lot of money. I mean, there’s things that you can do, but you own it. You’re a bully, and you’re a scumbag.”

Slated to make his in-ring return on October 28. in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – taking on recent PFL signing and former UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou, British heavyweight striker, Fury is slated to take on the Cameroonian veteran over the course of 10 rounds in a bout which is set to feature on both punchers professional records.

Chael Sonnen blasts criticizm toward Tyson Fury

Skirting a potential fight with Ukrainian world champion, Oleksandr Usyk amid continued negotiations over the course of the year, Tyson Fury has been labelled a “scumbag” by veteran analyst, Sonnen, for booking a bout with Batié knockout ace, Ngannou.

“It’s the most ridiculous sporting competition of our lifetime,” Chael Sonnen told The Schmo during a recent interview. “Let me give you an example. Take the Lakers and the real Lakers right back when they had the guy named Shaq and Kobe Bryant: rest his soul. I don’t know if LeBron was ever on that team. But remember when they were really good? And you got Phil Jackson as a coach; take them and go put them against Brady and The Patriots. Right? You got these great teams, but you’re gonna go do it under football rules. Do you see how stupid it is? Do you see why it’s never happened? You see why it’s never even been discussed? That’s what’s happening here.”
