UFC on Fox 9 might end up being the most ridiculously stacked free card in MMA history with the latest addition to the show being added on Wednesday.

Welterweights Carlos Condit and Matt Brown have agreed to meet on the December 14 show, taking place in Sacramento, Calif.

UFC officials confirmed the booking via Fox Sports on Wednesday.

The bout will pit two of the division’s most exciting fighters against each other with possible title contention hanging in the balance.

There hasn’t been a more dominant run in the UFC of late than what Brown has been able to do in his last six fights. The Ohio native has won all six bouts while stopping five of the opponents by knockout or TKO.

Brown most recently flattened former training partner Mike Pyle by first round knockout in just 29-seconds at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston. His upcoming bout scheduled for UFC on Fox 9 will put Brown on free television for the fifth time in a row.

UFC president Dana White even joked recently calling Brown ‘Mr. Fox’ for his tendency to not only compete on the televised cards, but also by putting on blistering performances like the ones he’s had lately.

Hoping to stop Brown’s momentum will be former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit, fresh off a win over Martin Kampmann in his last fight.

Condit actually headed into the rematch with Kampmann on a two-fight skid after losing to UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and current top contender Johny Hendricks in back-to-back fights.

The former champion wasted no time getting back on track, however, as he punished Kampmann over the course of their main event battle before finally putting him away in the fourth round.

Now Condit will look to jump back into the title picture when he takes on Brown in what should be one of the most highly anticipated battles of the entire year.

Brown has gone to decision only three times in his 29 fight career, while Condit has finished 27 opponents out of his 29 career wins.

The welterweight showdown is expected to occupy a main card slot on the show headlined by lightweight champion Anthony Pettis defending his belt against Josh Thomson.

UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson Live Streaming Weigh-in Video

Jon Jones will look to make history at UFC 165, where the light heavyweight champion will try to defeat Alexander Gustafsson and become the first to defend the UFC’s 205-pound title five consecutive times.

Since dethroning Mauricio Rua in March of 2011, Jones has already disposed of Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen during his championship reign. In the minds of many, beating Gustafsson would cement Jones as the greatest light heavyweight MMA has ever seen.

After losing to Phil Davis, Gustafsson has rattled off six straight wins. That was enough to separate the Swedish fighter as the top contender in the 205-pound division. With relatively comparable reach to the champion, Gustafsson is expected to provide Jones with a new challenge should he stay standing.

UFC 165 will also feature a fight for the interim bantamweight championship. Still waiting for the return of Dominick Cruz, 135-pound titleholder Renan Barao will try to defend his temporary title from the resurgent Eddie Wineland.

Weigh-ins for UFC 165 will be held on Friday at 4:00 p.m. ET. At that time, live streaming video will be available on the above player.

Below is the entire fight card for UFC 165, which will be hosted by Toronto, Canada on Saturday.

Joe Lauzon vs. Mac Danzig in the Works for UFC on Fox 9

UFC on Fox 9 went from empty to big to huge within a 24-hour period, with the UFC now announcing a new matchup between popular lightweights Joe Lauzon and Mac Danzig on Twitter.

That adds yet another intriguing fight to a booming card.

Lauzon has fallen on hard times of late, and is sitting at 1-3 in his last four fights, including an ugly knockout loss to current champion Anthony Pettis, a bloodbath to Jim Miller and a recent shellacking from a massive underdog, Michael Johnson.

Still, with twelve post-fight bonuses (one Knockout of the Night, six Submissions of the Night and five Fights of the Night) and numerous awards for 2012 Fight of the Year, Lauzon remains hyper-popular.

Danzig has been struggling to put up wins throughout his UFC tenure. In spite of winning The Ultimate Fighter season 6, he has been constantly on the short-list when it comes to UFC cuts, and owns an ugly 5-7 UFC record which hasn’t seen more than one win in a row since 2008.

Still, with a penchant for sweet finishes and collecting Fight of the Night bonuses while losing (three to date), he has still remained somebody to watch.

Within the last 24 hours, several big fights have been attached to the UFC’s long-awaited return to Sacramento, California.

The card will be headlined by a lightweight title bout between current champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson.

It will also be home to a possible bantamweight top contender bout between Michael McDonald and Urijah Faber, the flyweight debut of Scott Jorgensen opposite Ian McCall and a featherweight tilt between Chad Mendes and Nik Lentz.

On their own, these five fights combine for an amazing card. Keep an eye on Bleacher Report for more information on the card as it becomes available.

Scott Jorgensen Drops to Flyweight, Meets Ian McCall at UFC on Fox 9

It looks like former WEC bantamweight title challenger Scott Jorgensen has made up his mind on whether or not he’ll cut the additional 10 pounds to compete at flyweight.

It looks like former WEC bantamweight title challenger Scott Jorgensen has made up his mind on whether or not he’ll cut the additional 10 pounds to compete at flyweight.

Jorgensen makes his debut in the UFC’s 125-pound division against ex-Tachi Palace flyweight champ Ian McCall at UFC on FOX 9 in December, according to the UFC’s official Twitter page

After posting a solid 7-3 record under the WEC banner, Jorgensen has went just 3-3 inside the Octagon, most recently getting submitted by his friend Urijah Faber at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in April.

While the 31-year-old grappler is considered the No. 7 bantamweight in the world in the UFC’s official rankings, Jorgensen has lost to top-tier competition in Dominick Cruz, Renan Barao, Eddie Wineland and Faber.

Additionally, Jorgensen has lost three of his past four bouts, so he is in desperate need of a big win in the immediate future.

On paper, “Uncle Creepy” looks like he will be a tough challenge for the Utah native.

While McCall is just 1-2-1 in his past four fights, his losses only came to divisional champ Demetrious Johnson (whom he also fought to a draw) and top-contender Joseph Benavidez

The colorful fan favorite recently got back to his winning ways at UFC 163 last month, earning a hard-fought unanimous decision over Iliarde Santos. The win netted him his second “Fight of the Night” bonus in his past four bouts.

Will Jorgensen‘s wrestling and submissions be too much for Uncle Creepy to handle or will McCall’s constant pressure and heavy hands be the difference maker on December 14?

Floyd Mayweather: ‘I Want to Promote MMA Fighters’

It feels like just yesterday that boxing and MMA were the biggest enemies in sports, and Floyd Mayweather and his entourage always seemed to be somewhere close to the action. Now, though, that tune has changed in a massive way.

In an interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather opened up on his interest in getting into the MMA business.

I want to promote MMA fighters also. We lookin‘ to promote MMA fighters…You know, Al Haymon is looking to manage MMA fighters. Even though Al Haymon hasn’t came on record and said it, but I want Al to manage MMA fighters. I think I can take it to the next level.

If there’s one thing Floyd “Money” Mayweather knows (other than boxing), it’s dollar signs. What makes this such a surprise, though, is Mayweather’s famous anti-MMA quotes. Mayweather famously stated in a 2011 interview with CBS Sports that MMA was created out of a desire to see Caucasians succeed in combat sports due to their recent floundering in boxing. Earlier this year, leading into his fight with Robert Guerrero, he hinted during an interview with Showtime that his opponent’s dirty, unrefined style was better suited for MMA.

Mayweather hasn’t been the only one to fire shots, though, as UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently stated the pound-for-pound greatest boxer in the world “would get killed by an average college wrestler” in a street fight.

While Mayweather expressing his interest in MMA was a bit surprising on its own, that wasn’t even the craziest part of the interview. That came when Mayweather stated “You know, I don’t mind doing business with Dana White. Dana White’s a cool guy. I’ve been knowing Dana before he got involved with the MMA.”

The UFC’s president has been famously critical of Mayweather. He labeled the boxer a racist for comments he made on Jeremy Lin in 2012. White also criticized Mayweather for his refusal to fight fellow champion Manny Pacquiao over pay structure.

This, in turn, would set off a war of words with members of Mayweather’s entourage.

Evidently, though, any sort of bad blood has been set aside. Dana White was photographed alongside UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, as well as The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 contestants Jessamyn Duke and Raquel Pennington at Mayweather’s latest fight, opposite Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

It will be interesting to see how all this pans out.
