Jorge Masvidal threatens Chael Sonnen do all the steroids I'll break your orbital UFC

Targeting a professional boxing debut later this year amid links to a return to combat sports, UFC veteran, Jorge Masvidal claims multiple offers have been floated toward former Octagon title challenger, Chael Sonnen – who he vowed to viciously beat if they ever share the squared circle.

Masvidal, a former two-time welterweight title challenger, called time on his professional mixed martial arts career back in April of last year in his native Miami, suffering his fourth consecutive loss.

Book-ending his career with a decision defeat to fellow former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, Floridian veteran, Masvidal has been linked with a return to combat sports in the form of a boxing match against fellow UFC alum, Nate Diaz, however, despite rumblings of a pairing as soon as next month, a re-run failed to come to fruition.

Jorge Masvidal takes aim at Chael Sonnen

And while the Gamebred Fighting Championships leader still intends to fight former BMF championship rival, Diaz a second time in their storied careers, he revealed that a clash with the above-mentioned ex-fighter-turned-analyst, Sonnen is a bout he covets.

“I can’t stand that lesbian-looking transitional b*tch, Chael Sonnen,” Jorge Masvidal told MMA Fighting. “And no offence to lesbians because there’s some hot, cool-ass lesbians out there, it’s just him with them glasses and that haircut – he just, he looks like he’s in transition.”

“I would love to bust up Chael, but he would never get into a boxing ring with me,” Jorge Masvidal explained. “…Chael would be one guy that I would love to f*cking break his eye orbital. Just because he’s a cheating f*ck. Like, if you – he’s gotten caught with more substances in his body, than any other competitor in the history. At one time, he had six or seven different substances in his body for one of his title fights. It’s like, you’re a f*cking piece of sh*t human being. …Do all the steroids you want, it don’t matter, I’m still gonna break your eye orbital, bro.”

Chael Sonnen goes off on Jon Jones following UFC 300 reveal: ‘There’s a level of stupid that’s really hard to achieve’

Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones

Chael Sonnen was left dumbfounded by Jon Jones’s UFC 300 confession.

During an interview with Submission Radio, the reigning heavyweight world champion revealed that he was offered the opportunity to headline the promotion’s landmark event on April 13. However, ‘Bones’ admitted to turning down the offer, noting that he’s still recovering from a torn pectoral muscle he suffered while training late last year.

Sonnen who famously talked his way into a title fight with Jon Jones in 2013 was baffled by the admission and believes that it was nothing more than ‘Bones’ trying to get his name back in the headlines while he continues to sit on the sidelines.

“I would just have absolutely no idea what goes through that guy’s head,” Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. “Like, there’s a level of stupid that’s really hard to achieve, right? I mean, it’s hard. And in fairness, I wouldn’t know.

“When would it be OK for Jon to claim that he was offered a main event at UFC 300? When would that be okay to claim? When he wasn’t. If he was not offered that, if he’s working, if that’s a hustle to get a headline, he did a great job. You have a heavyweight champion of the world who is amongst the best to have ever done it, in any weight class. Heavyweight sucks, so it’s not like a compliment to say, ‘He’s the best heavyweight ever.’ No, man, I’m talking about a real compliment to Jon — just one of the best to ever do it, period. But you have to understand, if no one’s talking about you, then you’re not. It’s not questionable or a maybe — if the world’s not talking about you, you’re not.

“The reigning, sitting heavyweight champion of the world can’t get a headline,” Sonnen continued. “So if he made this up, if this is a lie about 300, great job. First time you’ve ever done a great job. Great job. But because it would be the first time, because that’s off-brand, I don’t think it’s what happened. I think he got a phone call. So now he comes out and he outs the organization. He just outs the organization, ‘Hey man, these guys don’t have a main event.’

Daniel Cormier called him a bad employee a couple weeks ago. Very low hanging fruit. That’s not a tremendous insult. Yeah, I mean, my God — what he did here, if that call really happened, is so damaging. And it’s not self serving, by the way. You want to go into business by yourself? Go ahead. There’s a time and a place, right? You want to become the next Stone Cold Steve Austin, you might have to go off script, but where was the payoff for Jon? What is the payoff for Jon that they called him and offered him a fight?”

The UFC 300 headliner has been the subject of many a headline as rumors continue to swirl about the promotion’s struggle to deliver something fans will be happy with. Recently, MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani claimed that a welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev was the UFC’s “top choice” but ‘Borz’ quickly debunked the rumors.

A middleweight showdown between reigning champion Dricus Du Plessis and two-time titleholder Israel Adesanya is also in the cards, though it remains to be seen if ‘Stillknocks’ will be good to go after his five-round war with Sean Strickland less than a month to go.

UFC Fans are Gowing Increasingly Frustrated with Jon Jones

Jon Jones has been a point of contention for many MMA fans after it was revealed that he would not return to take on interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.

The interim belt was established at UFC 295 after Jones who was scheduled to headline the event opposite heavyweight GOAT Stipe Miocic bowed out due to injury. Aspinall scored a 69-second KO against Sergei Pavlovich and immediately called out Jon Jones, dubbing their unification clash his “dream fight.” Unfortunately, ‘Bones’ insisted that he would still pursue his fight with Miocic upon his return, leaving Aspinall and the heavyweight division with an uncertain future.

“He didn’t say anything that could be helpful,” Sonnen said of Jones. “He only said one detail that could harm the company. They don’t have a main event and they’re scrambling, which means any of you that are getting an alike phone call, negotiate hard, they need you. That is what the heavyweight champion just told the rest of the roster.

“It’s one of these very bizarre situations where you have a guy so hungry for attention that he just came out and damaged the company, and he didn’t mean to — he’s stupid. But the irony of it is, guys like me … I’d like to give them the attention. Now I might be giving him the business and I might not be what you would call his [friend], but I do like to cover Jon, I do like when there’s some news out there. So if he’s starved for attention and he needs it and he craves it so bad, if the bottles coming to an end, if it’s one of these situations, we’ll give it to him.

“But for right now to come out with nothing monetizable, no payoff, no receipt, no reward, no anything, and advertise that your boss does not have the main event that he’s advertised to the world that he has? It’s a scumbag move, man,” Sonnen continued. “It’s a scumbag move. And Dana and Hunter [Campbell] and Mick [Maynard] and Sean [Shelby], they shouldn’t have to call you and say, ‘Hey man, this is just between us’. They shouldn’t have to say it every time. If you’ve been here, then you know that’s the deal. If you’re our champion, we should be able to count on you. Daniel Cormier’s right — that is a bad employee” (h/t MMA Fighting).

Jon Jones urged to end rivalry with Tom Aspinall fight he just has to say yes or no UFC

Chael Sonnen recently spoke wisdom about the Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall situation and devised a cunning game plan to end the controversial saga.

Everybody knows who Jon Jones is. For seemingly eons, he’s been the pinnacle of the world’s toughest sport. He is the crème de la crème of MMA, and that has not came without controversy.

Dana White once said the most brilliant thing about Jon Jones that anybody has probably ever said: that the man could’ve been the Lebron James of MMA. It’s true. From a hit and run on a pregnant woman, to failing PED tests, and more. Jon Jones has been a controversial figure in the game for a very long time. Not Lebron James-like at all (who has never been in any scandals and has always been a great role model).

Now, at the end of his career, there’s more controversy for Jones. Tom Aspinall defeated the terrifying knockout artist Sergei Pavlovich to capture an interim heavyweight title, and Aspinall beat him at his own game. In Aspinall’s own words, he has had his Michael Bisping moment. He knocked out the fearsome Russian and captured the throne.

Yet, he didn’t really capture the throne. Since Jon Jones is the undisputed heavyweight champion, Aspinall captured more of an imitation throne. Like a less meaningful replica almost. Now, Aspinall’s legacy will be forever marred. The electric British man wants action with Jon Jones, but Jones doesn’t want to play. Cue the controversy.

Chael Sonnen Explains how Jon Jones can settle the Tom Aspinall Controversy

Speaking on his podcast, You’re Welcome, Chael Sonnen spoke out about his former rival and the current controversy surrounding him.

“Jon does not enjoy that side of [MMA], he doesn’t understand it,” Sonnen said (H/T MMA Fighting) “He thinks the most money, the most accolades should go to whoever can beat up the most people. So Jon could end it. He could end something that he doesn’t want to keep continuing by saying one word, which is yes. But you want to know something?”

“Jon Jones could also end this by saying one word, which is no. ‘No, I’m planning to do one more. My plans have not changed for you. I plan to fight Stipe Miocic, who’s great. Stipe might be the one to bring me down. We’ll find out that night, but he might not. That’d be another notch and it will be enough. My plans don’t involve you.’ He could do that.”

“Daniel Cormier dismissed effectively Curtis Blaydes. I was there the night that he did it, he did it on the ESPN desk. He’d just got done fighting, Curtis had called him out and Daniel was a gentleman. He said, ‘Hey, that guy’s good. He’s got reach, his striking’s improved, a national champion wrestler, he’s younger, and he’s got a great career in front of him. But he and I will never share the octagon.’ And Daniel didn’t say it’s because it’s not a competitive fight. He didn’t say he was better than him. He didn’t even say he could beat him. He said, ‘I’m a champion, I get [pay-per-view] points. I fight people that have big names. You don’t.’”

“He leveled with him straight up,” Sonnen continued. “Never got into who’s better, whose legacy, who should remembered more. Daniel told the actual truth, which is, ‘I can’t make any money fighting you. You’re a dangerous fight that doesn’t bring money. Winning fights doesn’t get you to me, just so you know. I know they’ve told you that, but it’s not true. I know the magazines tell you that getting a high ranking brings you to me — I’m letting you know now, it doesn’t. Win over the crowd that’s willing to stop what they’re doing, part with their money and time to watch you, and that’s how you get to me. And you didn’t do that.’”

Sonnen Continues Spitting flame

“It was so effective, it was never discussed again,” Chael Sonnen continued. Curtis Blaydes versus Daniel Cormier, when Daniel was champion, was never discussed again. So Jon Jones could come out and say, ‘You’re young and you’re good and I’m not looking for that. No.’ Or he could say, ‘You suck. No,’ but it would still be definitive and he could end this. Or he could say, ‘Yes. Let’s stick with the plan. I have Stipe first and then I will come see you.’”

Sonnen firmly believes that Jon Jones is making this situation worse for himself by not just speaking out and being firm about his choice. Aspinall has been relentless in his pursuit of either Stipe Miocic or Jones and has been largely succeeding in turning fans against Jones (not that he needed much help for that).

“It’s kind of like, why does he not get himself a driver? Why would he not part [with] some money? If you’re giving a stripper $10,000 that you’re never going to see again, why would you not hire a writer for $10,000? He’ll work, he’ll be there the whole year. That’s about what it would cost for somebody to manage your Twitter page — about $10,000 for the whole year for a real top guy, a WWE guy, a guy who has worked in Hollywood. A real top professional writer, that’s about what it would cost. And you know Jon doesn’t have a driver, that’s how he’s got DUIs, and you know he doesn’t have a writer, that’s why he’s got typos.”

“What is it that we’re doing? What is it we’re trying to do?” Sonnen continued. “Jon could end this by saying yes or no. Jon has the power either way. His reasons don’t matter, at all.

“There’s a way to get some clarity, there’s a way to muddy these waters, and there’s a way to do what Daniel did and say, ‘You’re just not popular.’ Whatever the reason is, you’ve got to give a guy an answer, yes or no, or we just keep doing this. Generally, I would be OK [if this feud continued]. Like if this was Conor [McGregor] or somebody entertaining or fun, I would hope that it would continue. [But] you guys aren’t fun. This is boring.”

Do you think Chael Sonnen was on-point with his critique of how Jon Jones has been handling this situation?

Khabib and Javier Mendez

Legendary MMA coach Javier Mendez claims there is no truth to the rumors that Khabib Nurmagomedov is returning to the Octagon to headline UFC 300.

MMA Twitter has been abuzz ever since former three-time title challenger Chael Sonnen suggested that the UFC is angling to book Nurmagomedov’s long-awaited comeback for the massive milestone event. The American Gangster’ even suggested that the former lightweight champ would return to challenge current welterweight titleholder Leon Edwards.

With the promotion yet to announce Belal Muhammad as the next man in line for a shot at Edwards’ crown, fight fans and media outlets were quick to run with Sonnen’s report, no matter how crazy it sounded.

Less than 24 hours later, the American Kickboxing Academy founder attempted to dispell the rumors in an exclusive comment made to combat sports journalist Helen Yee.

“Stop all this nonsense regarding Khabib coming back and me and him training,” Mendez said in the video clip. “There’s been no such thing happening. We’re not discussing training. We never have. Khabib is still devoted to what he said. He’s devoting time to his family. He’s not working people’s corners. He’s not ever going to fight.

“To my knowledge, it’s never been spoken about and to my knowledge, he’s been [in Dubai] the last few days. He just left yesterday and nothing has ever been discussed about fighting. No training, no nothing. We train together actually, but we’re doing cardio. We’re not doing any kind of kickboxing or MMA training whatsoever. So stop the clickbait. Got it?”

It certainly wouldn’t be the first time a fighter or their coach has attempted to squash a rumor that hit a little too close to home.

Is there any chance we see ‘The Eagle’ back inside the Octagon on April 13, or is Uncle Chael just telling us another fib?

Jorge Masvidal floated as potential foe for Justin Gaethje in BMF title fight at UFC 300

Amid claims earlier this week that he is now “unretired” from combat sports just 8 months after hanging up his gloves, former two-time welterweight champion, Jorge Masvidal has been linked with fights opposite both Nate Diaz, and Leon Edwards – and now, a BMF title showdown with symbolic titleholder, Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April.

Masvidal, the inaugural symbolic BMF championship winner and former two-time welterweight title challenger under the banner of the promotion, called time on his professional mixed martial arts career back in April after UFC 274, suffering his fourth consecutive loss in the form of a one-sided decision loss to Gilbert Burns.

The defeat followed a prior judging loss to former training partner and close friend, Colby Covington, after consecutive decision and knockout losses, respectively, in unsuccessful title fight charges with former pound-for-pound number one, Kamaru Usman.

Jorge Masvidal floated as foe for Justin Gaethje

Amongst a potential return to fight long-time rival, Edwards at UFC 300 in another title siege, as well as a rematch with fellow promotional veteran, Ben Askren, analyst, Chael Sonnen has now suggested a scenario where Masvidal takes on Gaethje – whom he strapped with the BMF title back in July of last year.

“There’s a one-in-a-million chance that he goes back, and if he (Jorge Masvidal) got everything together and he got it all planned, he’s got a deal done behind the scenes that would have to be him versus (Justin) Gaethje at [170 pounds] for the BMF [championship],” Chael Sonnen said on his YouTube channel

“The only way you could make up for his retirement or that you cold make up for the discrepancy within records is if you spot him the weight and you move Gaethje to 170 and make it for a BMF [championship],” Sonnen explained. “I know Masvidal is not going to fight in the UFC ever again, and that it is not his choice unless it’s at 300 for the belt against Gaethje. I’m not predicting it for you, I’m all but guaranteeing you it’s not going to happen.”

Islam Makhachev backed to retire from the UFC by end of next year he's cleared out 155 pounds

Undisputed lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev is likely to call time on his illustrious mixed martial arts career before the end of next year according to analyst and former title chaser, Chael Sonnen, who argues the current titleholder has cleared out the lightweight ranks more so than his training partner and coach, Khabib Nurmagomedov did.

Makhachev, the current undisputed lightweight champion and pound-for-pound number one ranked fighter under the banner of the promotion, made his return to the Octagon at UFC 294 back in October.

Taking on featherweight titleholder counterpart, Alexander Volkanovski in a short-notice title rematch, Makhachev landed a spectacular first round finish over the Australian, stopping his two-time foe with a flush – high-kick KO win in a surefire Knockout of the Year contender.

And offering to compete for the promotion before Ramadan in a hasty return to the Octagon in March, lightweight kingpin, Makhachev has been linked with a championship defense against current symbolic BMF titleholder, Justin Gaethje next.

Islam Makhachev backed to retire by end of 2025

According to former middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger, Sonnen, however, fans of Makhachev should make sure to get their viewing on the Russian in before the end of next year – tipping the Russian to end his tenure in the sport by the conclusion of 2025.

“Islam Makhachev, you want him to keep fighting?” Chael Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. “Do you want him to go out like Khabib (Nurmagomedov). There is very good evidence that Islam has cleaned out 155 pounds more than Khabib… As you look at Islam saying, ‘I would like to go to 170 pounds.’ If [the UFC] wanted to get Khabib to consider [returning], they needed to make it 170 pounds or a catchweight, and they needed to make it an opponent he was yet to face.”

“…They’re [the UFC] gonna find out a lot sooner than they’d have to that Islam is done… If he keesp his three fights in 2024, you are not gonna se him in 2025, that I do know… You’re giving him matches he doesn’t want to have… If you want to keep him and elongate his career, you’re gonna have to start looking at either catchweight or 170 [pounds]. Islam Makhachev will not weight 155 pounds more than three times again in his life.” (H/T MMA News)
